I just ordered a set from here. By far the best badges I've seen to date and very reasonably priced. Some people are asking stupid money for them. Sadly I only ordered a pair and now wish I had ordered a few more because shipping is $10 from Japan but I have a pair and you can get them in silver or gold outline. Really excellent. Shipping took a couple of weeks but well worth it.

Opinion on these? 1978, 9/10 condition all-original and with burgundy grilles (weren’t these rare?). Guy wants $800.

Pinning down pricing on H1s is weird as everyone here is reporting steals of 2-500 bucks but I’m seeing an average market of 600-1,000 depending on condition and figuring of walnut veneers. Even seeing eBay completed sales upward of $1,600.

did you sample the speakers , do they sing ?  , the quality in those years was  tops , square magnet K-22 , Alnico k77 - k55V , grilles   look in great shape  ,  are these HWO /walnut , risers were optional in those years , do these have risers ?  burgundy or black fabric is all the same , but burgundy looks  better .

the most important is ......are the speakers  not scratched or banged up  and can you pick them up to keep em that way .

From what I can see the cases look to be in nice shape.  Not perfect but definitely not beaters either.

Personally I haven’t paid over $450 for a pair of original Heresys but the ones you’re looking at are walnut and mine have been raw birch or black.

They'd be a 5 hour roundtrip but the person seems reputable so I'm going on the assumption that they're going to sound great. They are HWO with slanted risers. I have close ups of the very minor flaws. Posting momentarily...

Looks like very superficial scratches on the tops and a couple minor nicks

When was the last time you were in the market? Sure seems like the market more than doubled since goverment started leaf blowing money around. I'd think we should see a cooling down of that though. All that stim money was given back at the pump and grocery store.

Also, he had RBs that were about the nicest birch figuring I've ever seen. But I was a day late on them. He was asking $675 for those

Those heresy's look NICE. But remember...   'build back better' 🤣👌 Grandbabies staying with us a few days. Love that! After returning from the grocery store and looking at what we bought, I told them they were our lil' drains in our economy. (sometimes, all you can do is laugh)  It's awesome! Have a great Monday~

I can be back home before kids or wife's home lol.

Is there a much improved difference other than the pretty risers? I'm not as knowledgable on Heresy yet as I am on Epics. I thought H1s were desirable because of exact same horns as Khorns, etc.? Seems the greatest differentiator are the IVs with their porting as that may help with the lowend extension issue some folks cite.

Yes, abit rich at 8 for those but, if you want them. And ebay abit overboard and not a true indicator. If you could resell those for that after the transaction a reality check.

Yes, your decision.

I always look up completed sales to gauge. One can never go off of people's ask.

You think it's a bit rich for them. OK cool, thank you for that. I'm seeing if he's negotiable.

The LaScala and Khorn have the exact same midrange squawker and tweeter horns.

The Heresy are just a great sounding speaker in their own right.

You really never know what was actually paid on ebay.

Aye. I grew up in the 80s around a pair of them. Hence why I want them in the collection :)

As 001 stated, some of these H1s start approaching HIII prices which's why I'm wondering if they're notably better sonically, or if it more falls into the realm of marginality and/ or subjectivity.
