Rear speakers

Surrounds should be a foot or so above your ears when seated.

If you're talking actual rear surrounds (like in a 7.1 setup) with the dimensions of your room I'd place them about three feet from the side walls.

If you're talking surrounds in a 5.1 setup, in your room they should be mounted directly to your side when seated, facing inward.

Question for rear speaker location for surround sound.

What would be in a smaller room (15x15) the optimum height and distance apart from one another for my rear speakers.

Thanks in advance..

what kind of speakers are we talking about -

the bigger the speakers , say a 10-12 inch woofer  , you can go as high as 1 or 2 feet above  ear level -

the smaller the speakers , 8 inches or lower , not higher than a few inches above ear level if you want to get the optimal effect and the closest to you would be even better , given the smaller  size of the speakers -
