noneotherthanbob
Good day, it's been a minute since I last visited the Klipsch forums. I'm sorry if this has been answered b4. I would like to know what year RF-83 & RF-63 were released & year they were discontinued, if possible. Also, their approximate worth in as new condition (9/10) in Black Matte finish. Thanx in advance & have a great day! noneotherthanbob

Production typically is around 2 years. Saw an 83, which may still be listed here for maybe 1000-1200. Saw a 63 recently on Craigslist listed for 450 which members say was a bargain. Hope this helps but, more information from other sources recc. Welcome! @noneotherthanbob
AndreG.
If You take a close look at the downloadable PDF on the Klipsch site, it says 2006 in the right lower corner. 1
MicroMara
As far as I know the RF 82 was launched in 2006 and the RF 63 in 2007 . I´m not a Klipsch Historian maybe @RandyH can help. He´s so to say the almighty Klipsch Library 😇

DARB53
I see that this is an old post, but I’m wondering the same thing about a set of RF-83 speakers. Curious of cost new, current and closest comparable new speaker from Klipsch. I have a set that sadly have some water damage. Serial numbers are: RF83BK+09380009 RF83BK+09380010 thanks for any help

billybob
A pic or 2 would help with the water damage, otherwise a fairly desirable speaker. Michael did a side by side comparison with 7s and it held it's own. Condition and being black is key to estimation.
emo1
I figure this is a good thread to post a request related to RF-83's. I have found a pair of RF-83's for sale. Speakers are in serial number sequence and am wondering if someone can identify when these were manufactured and possible what Klipsch dealer originally sold them? Current owneer/seller is not the original buyer. RF-83's Black: RF83BK 09280181 RF83BK 09280182 There is also an RC-3ii being sold as a package with the RF-83. I'm not necessarily interested in it but if I have to buy the whole package it may help me resell the center channel RC-3ii Black RC3IIBK0251 6021 Thanks in advance for any information you can provide. emo1
Update - I was able to have a FaceTime call with the seller (speakers are 540 miles away) for a remote visual inspection. Seller says speakers sound as they should but at least 3 of the 6 drivers have dings and/or scrapes to the copper cones. I'm wondering if Klipsch would have replacement drivers available for sale? If this is the wrong avenue for this questions let me know. I have friend that lives nearby the seller that is willing to inspect & hear before moving forward with negotiations but I'd like to know if replacement drivers are readily available as visually the imperfections may drive me nuts down the line if I acquire these RF-83's. Again, thanks in advance for any information and/or guidance

billybob1
Think were made around 2008 or 9. Review shows up 16 years ago.: https://www.klipsch.com/products/rf-83#product-specs

With inspection thus far only via a FaceTime call not sure if the grills are in "perfect" shape.

There is a source, not sure if new, at times on ebay for Klipsch parts. How many have the wiñg ding dents? Most times my experience has been, depending, no discernable distortion by ear in my case. Are the 83s black or cherry? 540 miles one way?

It looked like 2 had dings and a 3rd had dings and a few (at least 3) scratches in the copper. The RF-83's are Black. Yes, 540 miles each way from Denver. Roads are flat & fast so little more than 1 days roundtrip but I have friends near where the seller is so I have a free place to stay and catch up with those friends.

Actually a closer up would have helped yet, have you got a worth that seems reasonable to you? And, do the grilles look presentable? Btw, one more post and your PMs should be enabled so that information can be held in private if you have such a desire, between you and fellow members.
