neosoul
Ok guys I have a pair of quartets hooked up to my marantz nr1506 wirelessly. Problem is I want to hard wire it to a second modem/router type device. What would be the best secondary device I can buy to accomplish this? My modem/router in the living room is already hardwired to the tv & other devices & I need something where I can do the same in my spare bedroom. Any ideas? Not looking to spend a fortune on this, maybe $100 to $150 at the most.
pbphoto
Can you clarify a few things? Is your marantz in the spare bedroom? Is the modem/router in your living room the one given to you by your ISP? What's preventing your from running an ethernet cable from the modem/router in your LR directly to the ethernet port on the marantz?
wetowne
If you are out of ports on your existing router just get a cheap ethernet switch for 10 bucks. 2
avguytx
Agreed with above. Add a switch that will give you more ports and you could always send EOP (ethernet over power) to the other location. That works reasonably well if the line is on the same circuit breaker panel...which most are...with some exceptions.
Marvel
I wouldn't get a $10 one, but at least a gigabit switch. Still won't cost very much but it will be worth the little extra cost.
