JTC333
So I have had my The Fives for a bit now and I love them. I run a top of the line PC and connected via USB. I have the most annoying issue and still have not figured out how to fix. When ever sound starts it has like a 1/2 to 1 second delay or cut before sound comes out of the speakers. Its not a lag but you miss that sound till like the audio starts up. Im sure it has something to do with the USB connection as this does not happen with any other audio source on my PC. I saw a few posts where folks has this on some other powered speakers as well. Is there a solution for this at all? I mean as long as the audio is continuous it everything plays ok. But if i get like a sound notification from outlook i only hear the last small sound of the sound alert lol. Sometimes if the delay is long enough the sound never even plays in the speaker.. My only other thought was going out and getting a Sound blaster AE-9 to use the optical out to these. But at that point I am not using the fives DAC correct? Not sure if the AE-9 is better or not then The fives at that point. Plus I would have to spend another $300... Any one else have this issue and figure out a fix? JTC333
Well, i just went out and got the AE-9 then used the optical out to the fives. No more delay or stutter in the start of any audio! Seems all fixed plus now I can run higher sample then the fives could..
John Bee
Hey! I have the same issue with The Fives. Unfortunately, Klipsch's support is useless and I did not get any solution to this. Such a shame that the speakers have the issue. Oh and I've never been able to update the firmware as well.
coldfreeze
Oh I have the same fractional delay when connecting my Fives via USB. On the Aux input, it is 100% fine.
Scottybgnr
Somewhat same issue and connected to a klipsch subwoofer. Getting a “pop” sound through the sub when hitting pause connected through usb. Not through Bluetooth or Aux.
dazizm
I'm also having this problem with my brand new Fives. It appears to be USB specific according to the other reports I've seen. Switching to optical will resolve the issue but I bought these to use the USB DAC, so that would defeat the purpose. Klipsch, please investigate and provide a fix, thanks. JasonL
I just purchased the Fives from Costco on 4/7/2022, and have upgraded to the latest usb and bluetooth firmware. I am experiencing two issues with USB: 1) there's a fraction of delay to start the audio; 2) usb device disappears from system three times within last few hours - disconnect usb cable, and reconnect helped. I've made sure the sleep feature is turned off in "Klipsch Connect" app. Engineering team, please fix the USB issues. This is an amazing product, but the USB bugs are ruining the experience. Bugs report aside, one feature improvement suggestion: auto switch between active sources. It would be nice if the speaker can detect active sources, and switches between them (in my case, bluetooth, and usb).
