Yes probably scam...just noticed the "belles footprint" reference...

these are 1984  ,  the ad states K55V  which is very odd   ,the horns look like plastic  ,  these should have the klipsch k53  driver -

It's a lie. It's a classic David Culver scam. Notice pic #7 in this warning post. https://houston.craigslist.org/ele/d/houston-vintage-audio-scamming/7389123897.html

It's the same one used in a CL listing in Boca Raton that was posted right here in Alerts about a week ago. In that ad the phrase “ footprint is similar to Belles” is used.

Same spiel, just different pix this time. He never shows up anywhere he just fishes for cash through paypal.

tx for the warning -- there are always oddities in all his craigslist listings , the Year of manufacturing stated never really matches the pictures ,,,,,,,,

yeah,  the upfront offer to double box and ship is a red flag...sorry guys, when I see H's for $300. I post quickly....

PS.  David Culver is the worst scammer...also very active in the Seattle area...Marantz receivers and Akai to reel to reels for $250. lately, burnt enough folks that there active ads warning of the scam on Seattle CL...

David Culver has been active since 2017  ,

 please flag
Here is how the scam works...
  1. Dave posts super desirable vintage equipment cheap

  2. he is never available to see it in person or makes you drive to see him and he isn't there and has a last minute excuse

  3. eventually you give up trying to meet in person and he says he will ship it to you if you pay via PayPal Friends & Family.

  4. Dave never ships.

  5. PayPal Friends & Family provides no purchase protection so you are out of luck.
