Heresy k77 tweeter issue

I rescued a pair of H1’s yesterday. Birch raw painted black and in poor shape so I’ll probably sand, bondo and repaint.
Both tweeters are dead. I measured on the multimeter and the come up zero.
Can I simply change out the diaphragms and be good to go, or is there more to it than that?

Changing the diaphragms is all you should need to do.

Yes. Leaves me wondering how much clipping or overpowering amplifiers abused those Heresys to blow the tweeters. The Heresy was the most rugged of the Klipsch Heritage because of it's high impedance. Easy fix either way.

I've seen a pair of the K-77 M tweeters for sale in the garage sale section....

Since the tweeters in the photo are the "mud magnet" version that keeps it's magnetization much, much longer than the old Alnico Magnet versions of K77's, I think just replacing the Diaphrams is still the "mo betta cheapa" option, oui?

Can I simply change out the diaphragms

here 's the installation video , 10-15 minutes per unit is all it takes -you'll re-use the diaphragm gasket , no need to over-tighten the 4 screws , snug tight all around -

I had bought new diaphragms for my K77 from a Dutch dealer but my repair store said they were the cheap bad ones from China. My original diaphragms were found to be good and continued to be used, only the Alnicos were remagnetized.
To be safe I would buy the diaphragms from Crites. There are obviously different qualities.

I would carefully connect one of the dead tweeters to a small battery once to see if it is really dead or if it gives a crack sound. Not that the crossover is the reason.
