Almost brand new pair of Crites Type A 4500Hz crossovers. These are the upgraded crossovers offered by Crites that move the mid-high frequency crossover from 6000 Hz to 4500 Hz. They sound excellent. These are $380 new plus shipping. Im letting them go for $300 with shipping included.

Too bad a person must use Crites tweeters and cannot use the regular K-77's.  ☹️

B&K Sound Type A/4500 Crossover

This crossover is another option for the Klipschorn, LaScala or Belle Speakers.

A-4500Hz brich brand

This is a special crossover we have developed to address a couple of issues common to the performance of these speakers with the factory crossovers.  This crossover must be used with our CT125 or CT120 tweeters.  Use of this crossover with the standard K-77 or K-77M is likely to cause damage to the tweeters.

What we are doing with this A/4500 crossover is moving the midrange crossover point down to 4500hz for crossing from the midrange (squawker) to the tweeter.  The original crossover point for this is 6000hz to protect the K-77 tweeter.  The K-77 tweeter is extremely delicate, and can stand very little power lower in frequency than 6000hz.  Problem with this is that the K-55 midrange driver is pressed really hard to reach 6000hz.  It would be much more linear in it's operation if the highest frequencies it has to reproduce were in the 4500hz area.

So, with the B&K Sound Type A/4500 crossovers, we roll off the midrange at 4500hz and cross to the CT125 or CT120 tweeter at 4500hz.  Most people who have used these report an improvement in the smoothness of the midrange and a better sounding tweeter.

Depends on how you use your speakers, if you have flea or low powered amps and listen to your speakers conservatively I am sure you can get away with using the crossover with the K-77. They have to write this warning because of worst case scenario, which actually happens quite frequently where someone runs a high powered amplifier full bore to fill a dance hall or large room party etc... If this is you then I also recommend only using these crossovers with an upgraded tweeter that can handle the power.

So the answer to which speakers can use this is it depends on the tweeter in either LaScala, Klipschorn, or Belle speakers OR if you do not push your speakers hard and use low powered amps (less than 10 watts I would think) your fine with just the K-77 in either of these three speakers.

I prefer the AA networks in my LaScala's personally but some people like the A/4500, it's subjective.

yes ------but , you can still use  the A/4500 with the  k-77 with 3rd order Filters  , so if you change the filter of the tweeter to an 18db/octave slope  , plus , most users of LS dont use too much power anyways ,   there should be no issue overpowering the k-77  -

the A network  is old school  ,for  older classical Alnico drivers  with tons of  R&D ...........K-77 round magnet .  EV T350   ,  JBL 075  -

Aftermarket  horns  look good , but a  3D printer home made horn  would be just as good  as Boutique tweeter lenses  mated to  50-75$  neo drivers  that are very colored , and whether  they are /injection molded / metal / plastic  .......PWK used to say , does not make a dime worth of difference   .

Can you run DaveA tweeters with these? I would think so b/c the driver is the same DE drivers

And of course you can always reach out to DaveA with a direct question as well, but again, the answer is yes you can.

OK lets look at that. For a few rare people that might be so. They have to have 3D design software to design the horn and the ability to design it right. The alternative would be a reverse engineered file which then means you have to have a way of collecting a point cloud which could then be brought into your 3D design program if you wish to duplicate a known good design. Or a CMM to accurately measure complex surfaces which you are not going to do with simple basic hand measurements. You see you have to have a program to design a solid shape to deposit or machine from. Then you need to have software to be able to create a printer path for the printer which then also means you have to learn both the design software and the deposition software. Unless you can find someone who will give you those files and teach you how to run the printer. Good quality deposition parts also do not come from those home owner desktop depositors, they come from much more expensive units.  But yes if you have the capability an exact duplicate shape should behave just like what you copy.
