100 inch screen

Onkyo receiver (5.1) -> old needs to be updated

What i'm looking for

A good receiver 9.2 or higher.

2 surround speaker --> RP 600M

2 ceiling speaker --> CDT 3800 C II

1 Center speaker -->  RP 404 C

Sub woofer --> SPL-120 12" (do i need 150 ?? or dual subs)

Receiver --> Denon 9.2 or Marantz 9.2

I will throw in my opinion on the receiver, go Marantz.  I currently use the SR7012 and it works great with my Forte III.  I do 5.2.4 and it works great for atmos ect too.  Its the second Marantz receiver Ive owned and never had an issue.

Yes some are going with the 504 C but not knowing why besides bigger, cannot answer specifically.

The sub question is abit difficult also. The trend lately is dual subs. One 12 or 15 likely to suffice. Having the .2 capability gives you the option to try just 1 sub, just to see at first of course.

My personal between the two is Marantz although the Denon

has a decent following here.

Please interact as others now chiming in.

One advantage to a projector is you can just run one of your main front speakers (you will need 3 total) behind the screen, instead of the P 404 C

Having said that, I absolutely love my rc-64. Dialogue is crystal clear, even at low volume. This keeps the family happy when I watch late at night.

Had an Onk and it was great (did a lot for the money) but ran hot and did not last as long as others. Then again I don't mind replacing
receivers every 8 years or so.

The RP 8000f is an outstanding home theater speaker, I would go with the 504 center ,or another RP8000 . The  HSU VTF-15H MK2  subwoofer would be an excellent match ,and powerful. 🤓
