I currently use the SR7012 and it works great with my Forte III. I do 5.2.4 and it works great for atmos ect too. Its the second Marantz receiver Ive owned and never had an issue.

The sub question is abit difficult also. The trend lately is dual subs. One 12 or 15 likely to suffice. Having the .2 capability gives you the option to try just 1 sub, just to see at first of course. My personal between the two is Marantz although the Denon has a decent following here. Please interact as others now chiming in. @SKR
Dr_jitsu
One advantage to a projector is you can just run one of your main front speakers (you will need 3 total) behind the screen, instead of the P 404 C Having said that, I absolutely love my rc-64. Dialogue is crystal clear, even at low volume. This keeps the family happy when I watch late at night. Had an Onk and it was great (did a lot for the money) but ran hot and did not last as long as others. Then again I don't mind replacing receivers every 8 years or so. psg
Only use speakers behind a screen if it's acoustically transparent (i.e. perforated)

The HSU VTF-15H MK2 subwoofer would be an excellent match ,and powerful. 🤓
