I am setting up an atmos surround sound system and was pretty much set for left and right fronts the RP-8000f and now I see the new Reference R-800f, is this different and better than the RP-8000f’s and if so what are the differences? Is it too early to ask for this information now?  Or are the RP-8000f’s being phased out for the Reference R-800f’s?

Thanks for any help!

As I understand the video, the housing is now made of a "cast / shell " which is supposed to improve the resonance behavior according to the statement and thus improve the sound.

The horns now also have a new 90 x 90 degree design. The new woofers are made of a TCP = Thermaphorm Crystallin Polymer ( heat-resistant Cristall Polymer Mix  ) and probably no longer Spun Copper Cerametallic ( ceramic - copper mixture ) .

So far my first understanding

To clarify, are they updating their naming convention again for Reference to be....actually Reference?  If not (and I don't see any replacement for the regular Reference line) my assumption is these are *not* the natural upgrade for @Dr Morbius's RP-8000F that are mentioned - as those are Reference Premier, no?

These will replace the current Reference line, not the Reference Premiere line.

It´s a quite confusing marketing concept , even in germany there are many missunderstandings in view to all available Reference Lines from Klipsch.

I’m still wondering if I should wait for the R-800f if it’s an improvement over the RP-8000f ………..it really is a bit confusing.

They will not be.  They would be a downgrade.  As established above, they're Reference, not Reference Premier.  The R-800F is the big box store line.  The RP is the Reference Premier line, better quality all hands down from what you'd see elsewhere.
