myongha
I got a pair of Klipsch Reference Premier towers speakers. I somehow got scratches on the front panel behind the grille. It has a special textured finish. Anybody know a solution to get rid of scratches. Edit. Added speaker tag Edited March 1, 2022 by myongha
001
depending on how deep they are, probably need to sand smooth & repaint to match the original paint. a product called duratex is very close to the textured finish klipsch used on many models. myongha
It would probably help for photos. Do you think it would work for this?
myongha
Here is a better close up. So you can see the texture. It doesn't feel really deep. But I tried wiping it with a wood safe cleaner and the scratches didn't rub away.
jason str
That may be vinyl wrap.
Peter P.
Try a furniture pencil (Min-Wax brand, found at the hardware store) or black shoe polish. Both are removable if you don't like either. You're not going to get rid of the gouges, but you'll be able to hide them with the coloring. Some of the Reference series ARE ebony vinyl wrapped, so sanding would not end well for you. myongha
Thanks for all the help this far. I edited the thread with the speaker. It is a RP-280F tower speaker. Looks like best option is to use a minwax pencil?
