JamesHeyser
They are cheap to replace when they break (the diaphragms I'm buying anyway) compared to some of my other speakers. Is there a way to spend more and get higher fidelity from upgrading the diaphragm?
uteman1011
Hi James - I've just purchased a set of KSM-1's in anticipation of converting them to stand-up's. Where did you pick up the replacement diaphragms?

The ksm-15 and ksm-15-II use different mid drivers; the original uses the 1.5" k-52 style phenolic mid driver on a k601 horn and the II uses a 2" titanium driver on a k604 threaded insert horn. If you have the original you could try the titanium diaphragm if you have the second version you could try the k-70 as used in the newer pro 2-ways but might have to modify the crossover to make it work.
