How do you remove the dust cap of inputs?

I am trying to install banana plugs for my 6 years old Klipsch speakers. But I can't seem to remove the dust cap of the inputs. The flat head broke from the inner part when I tried to pull it.

Any suggestions?

i haven't ever tried to remove those on a klipsch speaker.  on every speaker i've had, i've used a small jewelers screwdriver.  they're small enough and the tips are sharp enough that i've been able to easily pry them out.
