jason.justice
I’m picking up some 1983 Cornwalls this weekend with a 3 hour return drive. tips for transporting them? Which side would be best to lay them down? Don’t think we can secure them safely right side up. I plan on bringing a bunch of blankets. billybob
Blankets are nice for lying on. Have had good results with laying speakers on their backs. And it takes 2 for your back not to suffer. ☕

OO1
pre-wrap the speakers with plastic to avoid scratches , put the speakers on their backs with cardboard underneath , add a thick piece of cardboard on top of the speakers as a protection , cover with blankets on top . take your time . billybob
Nothing like having plenty of room to transport, and a friend.
jimjimbo
As long as you have plenty of blankets, wrapping in plastic and cardboard is definitely not necessary.
Marvel
When I transported LaScalas in my Blazer, and later in my Subaru Forester, I bought a sheet of 1/2 inch mdf, and cut it to fit between the wheel wells. I was able to easily slide the speakers in on an old wool blanket, as there was a smooth surface from front to back. If all the drivers are on the back of the baffle, I would put the speakers on their fronts so all the driver weight is against the baffle and not hanging. Just my two cents.
