Loosening paper woofer suspension?

Just did my first recones - couple of Jensen P15LL. The surround/suspension on these all paper aftermarket cones seem substantially stiffer than OEM. I know they will break in (and I have been pumping them with ~50hz for a while), but even with this I think they will be overly stiff. Anyone have any suggestion for loosening them up? Like a chemical that very mildly degrades cellulose?

Keep pumping the dub step!  My new H4 woofers took at *least* 72 hours at tolerable volumes to loosen up so they sounded like the ones I heard in Hope.  Have you considered that the old cones were too loose?
