Connectivity issues with “The Three’s With Google Assist”

My new Pixel 6 phone is having a problem recognizing The Three’s with Google assist. I keep getting the message that I need to “download the Google home app (which I really have and set up with several other devices) and I’ve been unable to connect via Bluetooth again with The Threes.

The Three doesn’t seem to recognize my new phone, I have reset The Threes, unplugged and re-plugged, and when I tried going to the Google home app and the message I received is that the “Klipsch The Three found. It needs to be activated before set up.”

The next statement is “this device has a few extra steps before you can start set up go to the help Center to learn more.” Within the body of the paragraph it directs me to contact device manufacturer for further help.

Any suggestions on where to go from here would be greatly appreciated.

I have the exact same problem with The Klipsch One GVA.

Someone in Amazon reviews figured out you need to set it up using the Google Home app using an apple device like an iPad.

this makes no sense but it worked for me.
