tragusa3
My prior experience with other speakers tells me to be uncomfortable with the axis of my two Khorns meeting about 5' in front of my listening position. My ears tell me it is glorious. I'm thinking or disconnecting the top section and rotating so that the axis hits at my LP. Is this common practice? Or, are the Khorns designed to allow for this? Speakers are 17' apart at the corners. I typically sit 22' back. My front row is 11' back, and the sweet spot is very narrow for that row. The third row is at about 26' back and it sounds great from there. Thanks!
sunnysal
I would say to go ahead and try it. I did! I had them cross just slightly in front of my sitting position and that resulted in the most holographic presentations. after playing around you can always go back to the original position. Why not???? let us know what you decide and tell us what you discover while exploring. enjoy! warm regards, Tony

babadono
@tragusa3 I can't tell from your picture, is half of each KHorn bassbin firing into a wall? Or is that acoustically transparent? By all means decouple the high hat and re position to your hearts (and ears)desire.

I will try moving the high hat. Thanks.
tragusa3
So I tried. No improvement. Possibly a larger stage with them crossing in front of me. I had to try.
Khornukopia
If the top hat section of a Klipschorn is lifted and re-positioned, that will open a gap in the bass horn path, affecting performance. I see that @tragusa3 returned his to normal, but anyone who might toe-out or toe-in their K-horn top hats should make a wood panel to complete the top seal.
