Mono Power Amplifier for my Subwoofer

Hi guys,

I know it's been a while I haven't posted, but I'm curious if anyone has any suggestions for a mono power amp to run my subwoofer. I currently have a JBL MPC200 pro amp But the problem is that given its dimensions, it doesn't fit in any standard audio furniture.

I would need an amplifier that can sit underneath my receiver [Anthem MRX] and is no wider than 17" and 14" deep.

I saw that Dayton has one with a ton of bells and whistles I don't need.... Emotiva has one also but I believe it is a class A/B, meaning it probably needs vertical ventilation.

I am a little out of touch on the new products out there, any suggestions?

Thanks a lot

Just a small update on this old thread.

I finally researched the h3ll out of some of the used monoblocks as well as the new mini D-Class Chinese amps and settled on a used Outlaw Audio 2200 which is Class “G”.

Actually, it was proving hard to find one for sale within a reasonable shipping distance (preferably local) till I stumbled across an older “Atlantic Technology - SA-380” which is technically identical inside and out to the Outlaw 2200.  With a quick google, I turned up this tidbit…

From AVS forum, “Atlantic Technology ... Founded by legendary AV industry guru Peter Tribeman. Peter was head of NAD in the late 70s and 80s. He left NAD and founded Atlantic Technology as his speaker line and Outlaw Audio for receivers, processors, and amps. He went the custom installers route in speakers and direct online sales for Outlaw. His goal in both cases was to provide the best possible performance from a brand for the money.  Peter ended up selling Atlantic Technology to his longtime manufacturing partner…”   Originally Outlaw and Atlantic were two branches of a single company… so they shared some hardware… a little like JBL and Crown.

I also added a thin AC Infinity AIRCOM S10  fan to the whole setup since the cabinet was getting a bit tight to guarantee a good airflow.  I’m impressed on how silent it is…
