badmotofing3r
My Luxman TP-114 sadly has remote issues. For me to send it to the Sound Doctor in Colorado to be fixed I think is sadly not worth it. What would you guys recommend for a good preamp to be paired with my Denon POA-2200 running KG5.5s? Looking to keep it around $500 and under. New and old preamps to be considered. Just needs to have a remote for volume. Thanks guys.
tigerwoodKhorns
This is in the garage sale section. You can also look for THX Certified equipment that lacks HDMI. These can be had very cheap and tend to be high quality.
Buddy Shagmore
How about the Schiit Jotunheim? New $399. It is both a headphone amp and a preamp. Edit: Whoops, no remote though. The Schiit Freya has a remote I believe.
avguytx
Or a B-stock Freya S for $499 with a remote and more inputs. There's also the Emotiva BasX PT1 and PT2. I'm not a big fan of them but they have a phono in, remote, and an old dac chip.

avguytx
I haven't used a CD player in years now. Still have well over a thousand CD's but they are all ripped to a Synology NAS and I rarely even use JRiver anymore. About the same with my LP's; around 800 and haven't spun one in close to 2 years. Shakeydeal
Not sure about the specs on that Denon amp. But if you can use a passive preamp, like the Schiit mentioned above, you'll likely not find an active preamp under a thousand dollars (sometimes much more) that can touch a high quality passive. For under 500.00, I'd go with this: https://khozmo.com/index.html If you can stretch your budget, this one: https://www.hattor.com/mini_preamp.html

Yeah maybe someday. But as of now I gotta spin old school style.
