wuzzzer
My Sony UBP-X700 has been a great player.
JohnA
Yeah, look for a universal player. I am well pleased with my Sony UBP-X1100ES. You should find DVD-Audio a treat, if you haven't listened to one. Call Paducah Home Theater, they should treat you right. Wouldn't hurt to mention this Forum when you call.
YK Thom
Man I miss video stores. Loved the browse and the discovery of gems I hadn't even heard of. A weekly ritual consigned to the past.

MMurg
The Reavon players were made to fill the hole in the market left by Oppo exiting: https://reavon.com/. I've been considering getting one since my Xbox One S is starting to get a little squirrely when trying to play some 4K discs.
CWOReilly
I’ve had 2 Sony die. One was the x700. So 2 Sony surround receiver and 2 Blu-ray in 14 years. I will not buy another Sony anything. Currently using a basic Panasonic I grabbed off Amazon.
the real Duke Spinner
Yes Bad luck here with Sony also
tromprof
No Sony fan boy but I have 4 in current regular usage and no issues. The only dvd/blu- ray player I’ve had that died before its time was a LG quite a few years ago. It’s old tech and getting no better with age, but seems generally reliable in my experience. As always YMMV
Mikekid
We have 3 Oppos. bdp 93, bdp 103 and a Uhd 203. Sold a bdp 83 a few years ago. All have been absolutely perfect. But~~..we own a lot of sacd, dvda, blu ray and dts 5.1 cd/dvd/dolby digital surround. Wish Oppo would have stayed put. Reavon seems to have taken up where Oppo left off? There is another outfit starting the same as oppo/reavon, but I need to look it back up to remember. An outfit out of France? Other than Oppo Blu ray, the only other experience was with an older Pioneer Elite Blu ray. Still have it too. Nice player but slow to load Blu rays. Purchased right before the end of the Blu ray/HD video pissing match. Yup old..but all this ( except re-sales on old Elite) stuff still expensive used anymore. Mikekid
Yes...Reavon in France. I forgot. Thanks. I do that sometimes for sure. 🙃 Here is the one I ran into a little while back. https://heimkinowelten.de/en/magnetar-udp800-in-review/         but China.........................https://heimkinowelten.de/en/product/magnetar-udp800-4k-uhd-universal-blu-ray-player/   and for a little more~ https://heimkinowelten.de/en/product/magnetar-udp800mrz-4k-uhd-universal-player/  Not sure if it plays multichannel sacd and dvd audio. Maybe I missed that..
