Well I rolled the dice on a supposedly "brand new" unit from Hong Kong. Don't have it yet, it's on a slow boat from China. There are several sellers on EBay in China that claim they have new units. I assume they bought out the surplus when production was shut down in China. We'll see.

Brand new unit received in 2 or 3 days from China at a lower negotiated price than original listed price. Considerably lower.

I actually have a XP-4080 ,a XD-4080 and a XD-8080 none of which I've set up yet . Will be setting them all up come May or June .

I've been watching all these listings from China and have doubts that they are the real deal. They look to be a replica of the original xilica. I have an xp4080 and xd4080 and the xilica name on the faceplate looks different as there is a logo on the original units, whereas the ones from China only have the name xilica printed. I wrote to xilica asking them about those units but haven't heard back from them yet. It would be great if someone could post pictures of the inside of the Chinese units for comparison.

What's the logo on current Xilica product? I just assumed they changed their logo. If a replicator can make everything else look identical why would they not copy the logo too?

I'm yet to see a Chinese knock-off of any audio equipment where they managed to make the logo appear identical to the original. I lost count of how many fake DSPs I came across over the years. Ebay had many of them for sale. U87 mics and other gear as well.

 

Attached are pictures of the original xilica units. It would be great to see the inside of the Chinese units so we can compare. There are too many for sale at the moment when Zilica said that they discontinued them.

OK we know what the original bonafide Xilicas look like inside correct? I can take the lid off the one I got from Hong Kong. Will photo and post in the next few days...

@Schu your second pic is the Xilica logo circa 2017 or 2018. The one with the musical note is older. I have both. I will de-lid.......neither is in use currently.

You mean the idents in the knob? That could change anytime I would think.
