First amendment

If it’s good enough for our countries first amendment…. it definitely should be good enough on speaker forum.

“ freedom of speech: is the right to express opinions without government interference or censorship”

While I certainly tend to agree in principal... and wholeheartedly as a way of life, this is a corporate website and therefore not covered by amendments of the governing doctrine of these Constitutional Republics.

Free speech also has it consequences.  This is a audio forum and other matters  should be on other social media!  The forum has places for social talk, recipes, music, pics, etc.

While numbers one and two are important they are the only ones the general public seems to know. While the fourth and eighth carry a heavier burden. Now go on google away....

@John Chi-town, I hope you have free drink refills.

I agree with both sides of this topic, to a point. This isn't the place to promote violence and chit. Understandably, this isn't the place for competitors to advertise their offerings. IMHO, some rule changes went too far. Bob Crites was here and freely sharing information that helped numerous Klipsch supporters. He offered solutions that were not offered by others and, IIRC, never badmouthed Klipsch or the products. Now we can't mention his name or Crites offerings. Rules such as that have strangled this forum to death and it shows.

Neither Covid nor a prima-donna behavior by forum members made this place a ghost forum. A little debate is healthy and informative, plus being able to talk about the competition's offerings shows Klipsch's superiority or an area that needs improvement, such as the Mumps in the horns and CW4.

just my 2 cents

If the “censorship” had to do with topics that has been identified as off limits on this forum (modifications to OEM Klipsch and after market products), well the people who own this forum and pay the bills have the right to do so. Every person here has the right to leave and take their knowledge, experience and contributions elsewhere.

I personally found this site to be permissive in terms of discussing various topics and allowing people to disagree, as long as the topics are not modifications or aftermarket products meant for Klipsch products. Try having a heated, controversial discussion where differing ideas are presented and critiqued (ideas not people) on AK … it will be snuffed out immediately. I have permanently deleted them as I don’t tolerate elementary school level, nanny moderation.

Outside of this forum, those that think the 1st Amendment has limits, that is complete and utter nonsense. You need to go back and really learn American history as to why it is there. Who decides what is acceptable speech – whoever is in power in the government? Go look at what social media did/do at the request of the government. If you are so fragile that you can’t tolerate differing viewpoints (or as they call it "fake content"), then turn it off. Free discussion and freedom of speech provide a stronger, better-informed community.

Not here on the Klipsch Forum. We've been there, done that, and some of us have the t-shirt (or toaster as it may be).

I agee and censorship isn't the problem (unless we are talking about a lack of self-censorship).

No doubt...or anywhere else for that matter. Treat other people like you want to be treated and hopefully it'll catch on.

Good point, but isn’t this forum supposed to be for us (our house)…. It’s not like we showed up at Klipsch doors uninvited, and started spouting off about this and that.

It’s Klipsch’s house not ours but we have been invited if we stay within their guidelines.

If we are being honest we all have guidelines for anyone who we invite to enter our own homes..?

It’s an audio forum that’s been censored to only talking about what Roy says is OK to talk about (Roys censored audio discussion only).

This is simply wrong and looks like you are just trying to stir up problems now.
