Alright, I should have a cut-off date soon, sometime in the next week to 10 days. Maybe a little live Youtube on the deadline day, just informal chat about all things Klipsch and deadline for sponsor and be in the drawing. Do a drawing a few days after that.

Will be posting a deadline date and any live streams coming up.

MAJOR UPDATE

They had a KMAH meeting this past Monday Re: giveaway of Beta pair AL6, Roy’s update on new direction on the development of the new AL6 La Scala, and the AL6 being the focus (auditioned) during a Chief Bone Head class in November.

We have hit the min. number to call a cut off, the question is when to call the cut-off and when to do the drawing. If we hit the max entries before the class we will readjust accordingly.

First, Roy said during the meeting that he decided to implement changes in the bass bin/dog house to get bottom end to a solid 40 hZ. He apparently has succeeded with that  (the -3dB point is even lower). He is even figuring out an upgrade path from an AL5 to an AL6.

The drawing will be for the AL6 with the all of these new improvements, and it will be both passive (includes the two balancing networks) and active XO.

Roy made statements during the meeting like “I’m really pumped about what we have done and how this is sounding,” “I have always had a soft spot about the La Scala, and really wanted to take it to the next level.”

There will be a Listening Lounge in a few weeks (I will post flyer) that will cover: the drawing, what the AL6 will be, bass bin updates, and the Chief Bonehead Education Class (Active vs. Passive) in November.

As of now, anticipate that we will cut off all Sponsorships (opportunity for drawing) noon Central Time the first day of the class in November. The drawing will be one night of the class, and we will try to live stream that.

I will update the thread on the AL6 and create a thread on the Chief Bonehead Class, and cross-reference each topic (sorry in advance for any confusion resulting from 3 different things going on at same time).

If you have any questions, you can post here. For suggestions or comments, feel free to PM me or email to travis@klipschmuseum.org.

  • Klipsch Employees

Tune in to the live stream and I’ll update everyone on what we did to extend the bottom end on the la scala. It’s now my second favorite speaker next to the jub. The la scala was my first Klipsch speaker so I’ve always had a soft spot for the la scala. And now it brings a smile to my bonehead face…..

I have been reviewing some of the online content posted on YouTube. Where the speakers are tested and you can hear an audible signal of some music being played. I would only ask that this October 9 when you do the live release. That you consider painting the color black in your audio signal better than anyone else. Pro-Ject is the company that removes a lot of the noise floor ( up to -86db) with (-10db removed from balancing, that gives +6db boost in signal) from their units. But what it does is color the sound with the color black. Giving your audible signal a very quiet place to start from.  Just for my part, it would be a joy to see

  • A DS2  phono box, or Preamplifier, or
  • An RME ADI-2 Pro FS

IF it’s coming from a computer:

  • RME HDSPE AIO
  • In a 1u dual SONNET CHASSIS

If I was a company that made speakers and other audio capabilities, I would really consider seriously looking into a company that makes me sound that much better. They have been out of stock for a number of items. SKYFI AUDIO had some on their website yesterday morning. Ask for Fernando.

Best Wishes,

Best Wishes,

They are not going to be playing/testing speaker during the livestream, it’s a discussion, and based on previous Listening Lounge’s, you can sometimes hear lawnmower, fire trucks, and other assorted sounds of daily living.

To hear ‘em you have to come to hope Nov. 14 and 15 for the Chief Bonehead class.
