klipsch
I have a SW-15II hooked up to the sub out of my Yamaha RX-V692 receiver and if I switch between inputs, I get a very loud thump out of the sub. Can anyone help? Thanks, Steven
dougdrake
Is this a recent development, or has it always done this? It sounds like the Yamaha does not mute the pre-amp output when it switches sources, and is sending some errant signal out the pre-amp outputs (which is where your sub is connected) during the switch. michael hurd
Sounds like you may have two problems. It sounds like you have a ground loop and/or the gain is set too high on your subwoofer amp. A friend of mine had a car subwoofer amp that made a continuous thumping noise if the gain was turned up too high. The remedy was to install a ground loop isolator and turn down the gain.
