Desktop Promedia 2.0 keep disconnecting, both bluetooth and wired

Recommended Posts

Speakers: Promedia 2.0

Installation: bluetooth or hardwire (see below) to a Windows desktop computer

My newly purchased Promedia 2.0 speakers have repeatedly disconnected from Bluetooth.  I would come back to my desk and discover that the light had gone from blue to red.  After long-pressing the right button a number of times, I would finally get to a blue light and I would be connected again. Short clicks of the right button do nothing except as described below. If I left my desk, when I returned, I would again be disconnected,

I decided to switch to a wired aux installation - I thought that would be more stable and not disconnect.  I fought with the right button, eventually getting to a green light (aux) only via a long click on the right button which eventually after multiple tries took me to a blue light, then I did a short click, and that gave me a green aux light. When I left my desk, it disconnected and upon returning I had a red light again.

Do I have a glitchy pair of speakers?  And then it happened again - as I was typing this, the green light went red.  I can't have this - I need to be able to reliably get onto work zoom calls without needing to battle with the right button. This time, one short click worked to take me immediately to blue and then one short click to green. At least there was no battle with the button, but why does the speaker repeatedly disconnect?  At least the short click was working easily.

Help!? Anybody?

Thanks very much

We've had ours for so many years now. The only problem we had was the speaker cone surround began to rot after so many years. I located a new klipsch one and replaced it. Probably 10 years or so now. SO far so good..still. Sure does sound good!
