Fyne Audio versus Klipsch Heretige?

Recommended Posts

I can compare similar technology with my Coherent GR12 Signature who uses coaxial drivers made by Radian.

Other than Jubilee the only heritage model I have to compare is LaScala. With the Coherents I’ve realized how a “musical” speaker

presents itself. The high quality Radian point source drivers, thin wall cabinets and excellent crossover components combine to

make a very good listening speaker. I find they sound best with tubes but they ain’t shabby with First Watt amps either.

I’m going to go check the Fyne audio speakers out at upscale Audio and see if I like them. I found some PerlistenS7t s I loved but my wife hated the way they looked so she vetoed them even though she thought they sounded amazing compared to my Forte IVs. She likes the way the Fyne speakers look so I guess we will see. I like my Fortes but the Perlisten speakers sounded incredible in comparison.

This is the Klipsch forum, perhaps the wrong place for other brands. But I would like to say one thing. Not only Paul Mills has left Tannoy but the whole management and technical team. I would never buy an expensive Tannoy Alnico again today. Behringer bought Tannoy maybe 10 years ago. Nobody knows exactly where the Prestige series is made today, they don't talk about it, some say in China. The Scottish Tannoy factory no longer exists and innovation and R&D have absolutely disappeared. I would only buy a Tannoy Prestige series used and preferably 15 years old to be sure.

I haven't heard the Fyne speaker yet, but it's a nice story, all the founders of Fyne were over 60 years old in 2017 and left Tannoy altogether.

They let make the cabinets in Poland which must not be bad. The prices are comparable (expensive) to the Tannoy Prestige series.

So far you can believe a salesman...see the pic (Kevin from upscale).

I know they don’t like ever mentioning any speaker other than Klipsch on this Forum but my brother had klipshorns, sister had Forte1s, dad had Forte 1s and I had heresies and have forte 1s and Forte IVs I’m just curious about other speaker brands and sound.

I have yet to hear a pair but they must obviously share many sonic characteristics of the top tier Tannoys. Like Klipsch, Tannoys are very fine speakers that have a multi-generational history. Would be  nice to have the means to own both.

I have the means as I was saving for the Perlisten speakers that my wife said no to. The Fyne speakers cost less than the perlistens. I will have to hear them and compare with my forte IVs but if they are not significantly better than the IVs I ll just stick with the Fortes. the Perlisten speakers were next level end game speakers that had centered lead singer, wide and very deep sound stage and great separation of vocals and instruments. They were much clearer than my IVs and mids and tweeter sounded breath taking while bass was almost as good as the Fortes. Of course they were much more expensive.

@Fido  Was this comparison made in the same room with the same equipment..?

The only reason I ask this is the room/setup is second to if not equal to the loudspeaker in importance in what we experience.

Note: My comment isn’t about the Perlisten or Forte lV but instead a caution about making comparisons under different conditions regardless of loudspeaker brand or model.

Not same room or same equipment so not an apples to apples comparison. The Perlistens sounded more clear and accurate than any speakers I had ever heard anywhere.I love my Fortes but the Perlistens are over $20k and they seem to punch above their price point. Doesn't really matter as they are a no go for my wife who doesn't want them in our living room. I can always find somewhere else to spend my $$$$.

It shouldn’t be taboo to mention other speaker choices in a forum dedicated to a single brand. If one is doing it the right way, they will cross shop other speakers and make the choice that is right for them. It very well might be klipsch heritage because they are so competitive in and above their price range. But it might be something totally different. I’ve chosen a different path for now, but that doesn’t mean I don’t love and respect klipsch.

Hi,

to me there's 2 sorts of speakers:

Dual concentric/coaxial and Klipsch or Klipsch and dual concentric/coaxial driver.

and i guess, we still allowed to freespeech!

regards

Yes, the new Tannoy. This one in the link is like my Canterbury 15 but neodymium and not alnico which does not mean worse or better but different.

Spectacular looking speaker and piece of furniture. Not sure I'd like it as much as my Fortes but I'm sure it's a great speaker.
