Zeeshan Nasir
Hi I just recently less than a month ago bought a RP-1200 sw. Earlier the green light in the front would turn on whenever I turned the amp Onkyo 6100. Now all of a sudden the green light wont turn on and it's dark. The sound is coming from the sub and I'm getting the bass but no green light on any switch mode auto on or standby. I saw the green light basically indicated the amplifier in the sub turning on . Does it mean the sub amplifier is not working
Peter P.
If you hear sound, the sub is working. Sounds like (no pun intended) the LED went bad.
Zeeshan Nasir
Ok so in actual there is nothing wrong with the inbuilt amp than because I saw in the manual it said that the green light is basically for the amp turning on.
babadono
You were thumping so loud a connection came loose? I know in my RSW-15s the LED has a connector between the amp/electronics and the LED itself. Sometimes people intentionally unplug because they don't want the light showing during movies. Pretty extreme IMHO. It could just be a loose connection, LEDs are pretty tough.
OO1
this may be a defective LED issue , if you're the 1st owner of the unit , the warranty is 5 years full , get in touch with your Dealer , let them troubleshoot the problem with Klipsch Technical Support . I’m having the exact same issue with my new setup. 3.1, Onkyo tx-nr6100 with rp-1000sw connected with audio quest greyhound subwoofer cable (along with rp-8000f and rp-404c to complete the setup). Only had it about 2 weeks maybe. Onkyo is configured for 3.1, set for the exact Klipsch speaker models I have which is supposed to somehow optimize my setup. Everything runs through a power conditioner and originally I had the sub plugged into a delayed/switched power bank which was labeled for sub, but I tried putting it on an always on bank to see if that made the difference. Even this way when I turn the switch to on instead of auto, still no green light. As info, it was still on the delayed/switched bank when the light was working so I didn’t think this was the issue but worth eliminating just in case. I tried playing the same movie I was watching when it was working, which was streamed through Amazon via my Roku. I’ve also tried music via Spotify. I’ve toggled through the various listening modes on the Onkyo. Can’t seem to get the light on. I’m getting bass and I can feel the cone moving. If it’s truly just a problem with the LED, then frankly I don’t care. BUT what throws me is the cone is moving even with the subwoofer switch set to OFF, so I think maybe I’m getting bass, but without any assistance from the internal amp? I just want to be sure I don’t have some other issue going on that needs to be sorted somehow, and I suspect I do. any advice? OP, were you able to get yours working? I'd think this wouldn't have any effect unless the sun was active. My RP-1000sw, just a couple weeks old, is doing the same thing. Plenty of bass, adjusts if you adjust the gain but no LED. Starting to think the LEDs they are putting in these are pretty questionable.
MarcosC
Same issue here. RP1200 is working well, but the LED is no longer coming on. Not a big issue, but still I do worry that parts are starting to fail. I don't really want to open the sub to check the LED connector unless others confirm that this is a confirmed issue with the connector.
