John_Doe1987
Hello, I am trying to figure out the model of a pair of speakers that I have come across recently. A family member had no use for them (sitting in a attic), so I decided to pick them up. The story goes that his roommate in college was moving out, but did not have a trunk for his stuff. So instead he sold off the bass and tweeter cones (and the rest of the speaker parts), and took the housing as his trunk to carry his things back home. From there, the parts were transplanted into a smaller housing, and that is where they have been sitting since. Attached are some pictures; originally he thought it was a Klipsch speaker, but brief inquiry online reveals it might be Bozak(?). Anyhow, it doesn't seem to have a mid-range section, but it is possible that that part was kept by the original owner. Please let me know what you think it might be, or if there is a more appropriate place to figure this out. Thank you for the insight. https://ibb.co/gwPhLF3 https://ibb.co/sJBDJRd Edited August 23, 2024 by John_Doe1987 Spelling
John_Doe1987
The woofer was labeled as B-199A 16ohms (hidden from the angle of the photograph). Edited August 23, 2024 by John_Doe1987
billybob1
Yes I don't know. Could be yet a photo of the speakers itself will help... Welcome @John_Doe1987

billybob1
Those may be Bozak...not sure. Others may have enough to say. Thanks @John_Doe1987
JRH
Definitely unsure here. The housing frame appears to be the same as a known Bozak woofer we have in the Museum.
John_Doe1987
Again - the enclosure and presumably the frame is custom made by the second owner. He described the old enclosure to be much larger, maybe 4-5 feet tall ("size of a crate/trunk you could pack alot of stuff into.) I think the best information I might have is the serial numbers/ names for the woofer and tweeter, and maybe if you know of which models packaged the two.

Put that information down here if you want to...he or someone may know. How do they sound?
John_Doe1987
The woofer was labeled B-199A 16 Ohms, serial J03614 with "709" painted on the back. Tweeters have that same white "709" painted on them, with engraving denoting "part 200". It also does seem to be Bozak; a folder left with the speakers has a correspondence with the Bozak repair facility in CT for a replacement crossover.
