Bernd
So I had my RP-5000F for a while and was wondering which Klipsch subwoofer would pair with it the best. I have no idea what to look for and if I should consider a two subwoofer setup or single subwoofer setup. My concern is I might go too low-end or too high-end for the RP-5000F. The speakers are connected to a Cambridge Audio Topaz SR20 Amplifier. TV, XBox Series X and vinyl player are used with it. I was for the first couple of years fine with the default bass they have but would love to step up my game in my modest listening area of 4x5m (with an adjacent open area of about the same size). billybob1
Yes welcome @Bernd... Was just looking at klipsch.com here, which recommend you do. Members may have their advice as to size. As far as known, the sub line there may go from 8-10-12-14-16 inch sub speakers as noted for the rp line. The Reference (R) line of subs would work as well.Guess you are more into music versus home theater but dual use is cool. Example of sub shown in kit looks like 10 or 12 inch shown with the 5000. Just an example as size of room may sometimes recommend whatever size works for you. Yes, dual subs are getting more popular as time goes by. Btw, it is RP5000f :
wuzzzer
I would go with the new RP series with a 10” woofer.
Peter P.
Get the largest, best performing subwoofer that you can afford and will fit in your room. It's that simple. The reason is, you can adjust the output level and crossover to blend in with your main speakers, unlike a main speaker whose specs are predefined. Your constraints are do you have the room to fit the sub without it getting in the way of anything. A subwoofer that fits in an open corner or under an end table or behind the couch should be a prime concern. I specifically looked for a compact subwoofer because I didn't have a lot of room to place one.
