Yes, the forte' are likely considered a work of art by many, along with many who reflect on the musical instrument, which it is.

Beauty again, in the eye of the beholder.

Utilitarian object can be art. Like wall art, the beauty of women can be captured in a time and place. Would I have dated Whistler's mother? It all depends...

It's the collaboration with a designer without audio engineering credentials to produce a speaker that is more about looks/style at a "luxury" price point than it is about quality sound.

The Chief razzes dude for going with a bi-radial horn in the video, says that's where people start from until they understand how horns work and pointed out that Klipsch used them 70 years ago.. but hey, they look cool!

Another view point. From what I know about plywood (which isn't much) I'm not sure if he is correct about Baltic Birch, Plywood grades.

He sounds like somebody who has never tried to build anything out of the plywoods mentioned.

If weight isn’t an issue I would much rather build using Baltic Birch.

I could be wrong but I think the internal resonant frequency of the Baltic Birch is higher as well which helps make the individual cabinet panels less sympathetic to frequencies coming from the woofer.

oh, and I think the front baffle on my KP-250s is 1” thick.

Since I've lived with 15"s for a while now... I couldn't go back to my F3s even if I could get them back without being shot!

The bigger the Klipsch the better! & like others have said, $$

I absolutely agree with this observation. Hearing is believing.

I recently sold a pair of KP-301s to a gentleman that was on his way next to pick up a pair of H4s.

In a follow up conversation he mentioned the H4s were "very smooth and a real pleasure to listen to, but do not have the scale of the 301s, not even close".

My first pair of Forte 2s were purchased from a gentleman that was also selling Belles (way above my paygrade then). He had the Belles playing when I arrived and when he switched to the Forte 2s my heart sank, lol. They were wonderful speakers in my price range, but they weren't Belles.

Gentleman talking speaks of birch, not Baltic birch , which think read a lit bit higher.in price and what Klipsch has used in the past.

@billybob1 yes, initially he says "birch plywood" a few times. Then he starts using the term "Baltic birch" and "Grade A" and that he thinks Grade BB/BBB is highest grade. That's the part that was confusing to me. It starts at 8:20 mark of the video.

Yes, I watched the rest and heard that later. Grade A is likely decent enough.

Went on to talk about marine ply. Cannot see advantage in that.

Out of my understanding. Thanks!

I think he is confused about that, Okoume plywood is desirable for it's appearance. Grade A/A can be finished without any veneer. It is void free

This is Okoume plywood with marine grade varnish:

So Is Klipsch manufacturing facilities going to a 'Jobber shop' as a way to keep employees busy and fully staffed? I think there are several designers that would be willing to use Klipsch as a manufacturer. Maybe the should design 'flat packs' as a way to sell and ship to DYIers.

Definitely don't need this level of malice
