How does this Justin Weber justify the high prices?

You would have to ask Justin. If I were to guess, I'd say it like anything else: supply and demand.

This just looks like nice cabinetry and the components just look like Crites.

To me, they look similar to a Dave Harris horn design.

Crites makes a solid product at a very reasonable price including crossovers.

I agree and am not trying to bring that into this part of what I said.

I don't know, but the information provided on the site is pretty vague.

Again, you'll have to ask A&S. This video will answer some questions.
Justin, working with Dave Harris, Al with ALK and many other people on this forum, has worked well for him.

I only brought JW's speakers into this because they are 2-way, they are offered at a similar price, and our ears are liars: Comparable (X) has to be ABed to hear which sounds better. Also, I know how much better that shape horn is than what has been standard: Rectangular, ~ straight from the throat to the mouth, and with corners. The evolution of the Klipsch horn has changed shape and added mumps for better sound.

Do we have a bet or not? lol

I'm not trying to be hard, but his video is pretty vague for sharing his own product. I just feel dubious when I see someone selling wood cabinets with what appear to be generic horns and a very high ticket price.  It just doesn't add up.

I can't agree. Justin's page about the Klamath offers more info than Ojas' and Klipsch's sites combined.

I understand some need to make some money but Crites keeps the prices real and fair by comparison.

I said before I am not trying to bring that into the conversation.
I brought up Justin Weber's Klamath because it was similar in size and price. I am willing to bet on the outcome of a shootout between those two.

(If I were to pit Weber vs Ojas vs Crites offerings, I know what pair I would buy... even before listening to them)

Some of the prices people come up with are just so absurd. Even with inflation it still makes no sense to me.

Let the price bother you if you want to. Although I agree with what you're saying, I don't care how much they charge any more than I care how much someone is willing to pay for them.

Looking at it from other's pov, most of us here have what most others would call absurd. They view the Heresy as too large and cost too much.

I remember seeing his build threads here over the years he does an amazing job with cabinet construction / bracing etc IIRC he uses the Fatail Pro drivers in these for the horns- I'm sure they sound fantastic. That being said I do believe they are more or less premade DIY speakers with mostly off the shelf parts and I agree price seems really high to me. If you did through the forum pages you could probably find this build on here and an exact parts list. Here's a break down of the 3-way version:

That's what I recall too and freely shared information to help others with this addiction hobby.

I didn't mean to hijack this thread, take away from Ojas, or be a spokesperson for other brands. Knowing how our hearing forgets, I would love to hear the aforementioned in an earlier post ABed and, afterward, enjoy a steak dinner and conversation, even if I am the one buying.

I like how the Ojas motorboard overlaps / covers the ends of the rest of the cabinet. The cabinet's fit and finish look great and is probably only surpassed by the sound quality.

I stated that I didn't care about the price, but I should have said I am not concerned about the prices. I do 'care' and hope they fetch all the money the market allows. I hope whatever Klipsch and Ojas do is a success.

A Prime Porterhouse, cooked medium sure would taste good.

It's just a plywood box.  The business case to manufacture loudspeaker systems is non-existent in most metro regions in the USA.  If you make a few models, you'll be asking many $k/pr regardless of COGS.

C'mon, let's get real here! $8500?! Yes, there's work that goes into it, like many companies, but once you have a well oiled machine going, it's nothing. All the CNC machinery does all the cutting and they just assemble them. They get these parts at cost and I myself have built hundreds of cabinets for my own industry and I did it all by hand and I worked my A.... off. It's like what many house painters are charging. Okay it's 50k to paint your house. These people pull these ridiculous prices out of their A....! I'm not against profits and running a business, but this is typical price gouging.
