BRBNGUY Posted September 23, 2024 Posted September 23, 2024 Hello! I recently purchased a Aragon 4004 MKII - I found the sound really laid back, has anyone else have this experience? The amp was bought from TMR Audio, which I have always had a great experience. I moved my Yamaha MX-1 to a secondary system where me and my bandmates practice, I thought it was better suited there and needed another amp for my main system. Just seeing others experience. The Aragon was pair with Cornwall III. Thankyou BRBNGUY 1 Quote
derrickdj1 Posted September 24, 2024 Posted September 24, 2024 Was the amp updated with new capacitors and thoroughly checked out? The amp should be more than enough power. Quote Quote

Have you readjusted any DSP or tone controls that may be in play? Played with the positioning of the speakers at all? Sometimes all you need is a few days to adjust to the new sound, I find it takes some time to get acquainted to equipment changes; sometimes when things sound off or bad initially they can settle in and sound wonderful but I've had it go the other way as well where something sounds great at first but gets tiresome or fatiguing after awhile. 1 Quote

Yes, at least to me compared to the MX-1 I was using previous. I did some readjustments, speaker movements, etc. Leaving the amp on low for an hour or so before listening, etc. I ended up sending the amp back. Quote

Edited for clarity; MX-1 paired with CWIIIs worst of both worlds, should have given your ears/brain more time to adjust to the new amp. 1 Quote
