Cornwall IV, are they to big?

This is my new listening room. “Wife kicked me to the garage.” 
 

its 22’x20’x8’ the cardboard is approximately where the speakers would be. Would the Cornwall’s work in this size room?

That room looks great for CWIVs, especially with that floor covering. I was thinking concrete floor when I read about being "kicked to the garage."

 

It might help if you could move the exercise machine on the left and separate the speakers some. There are a lot of reflective surfaces (drywall) but some room treatments would help if you wanted to go that far.

Thanks for the reply. Ya i definitely will be adding some GIK panels on the side walls. I’m pulling the trigger on these, now I just have to determine if I want to use my marantz 40n, or purchase something with tubes.

You have a nice size space.  Toy with the speakers, some reflections are not bad off the wall for imaging.  Tubes will pair well with the Cornwalls.

Thanks for all the help everyone. I really appreciate it! Not to turn things dark, but this my gift to myself for surviving one full year of stage IV esophagus cancer. I think it’s funny the speakers I ultimately landed on are the IV.

They are definitely getting moved! Speakers just arrived! I placed an order for 2 Decware zen triodes, so I can run them in mono. Until they ship I guess I’ll use my marantz 40n.

What caused you to do this?

Have you heard any Decware amplifiers?

Do you know the wait is probably around 3 years?

I just thought it would be a good pairing. I know the wait sucks. The only tube amp I’ve heard is with my headphones.

First impressions:

 

1. love the look

2. these sound huge

3. I didn’t expect them to be able to “disappear”

4. Bass is a little on the lighter side

5. I’m going to get my self kicked out of the neighborhood

Give them some time to burn in. Bass will be more present after a while. (this was my experience with the CW4 when I bought them new)
