Hurricane Helene - 2024

Amazing how far these storms create havoc.  I am 20 miles NE of Louisville, and we are looking at 3-5 inches of rain from this storm.  My son at UK in Lexington is looking at 5+ inches of rain.  They are putting out a warning for SE Appalachia regarding potential landslides.

Yep, my phone got the flash flood and landslide warning a few minutes ago.

I also discovered I have a little leak at one end of my living room.

I was able to climb up in the attic and get a large cooler under it now so at least it will stop dripping through the ceiling.

I discovered a leak or at least I thought I had. We’ve had inches of rain in the last couple of days and not a drop in my bucket. We’ll see how it does through Helene…..

We'll see what we get up this way.  Was bone dry for almost 3 weeks but in the past week we got a couple inches according to my gauge.

Think I'll slip out and mow the yard since it's hard to say what we'll get.  Calling for lower temps and rain most of next week.

Buckle up @billybob1 and everyone else in her path.  We all know how fickle women can be.  :)

Yes men, been already ready to git outa that place.

First real gusto was 9:30 maybe 75 +

Picking up quick. Live oak and 10. Wind trying to lift the passenger front. Lights like looking into refection from the rain .

Lights just blinking at stores. Maybe they'll hold.

Happy I left the wild west.

Meetoo.  Hunkered down... cheers

What kinda system you listening to?

We were told at work to not come in until 9:30 tomorrow morning UNLESS  they send a text that we are closed for the day. I'm expecting we'll be off, as it would be too risky to load up our individuals we take care of and bring them to our center.

Eh... got sidetracked and the budget is too tight. It didn't help that I was given an androgen blocker shot before the 36 radiation treatments. My energy has been pretty low or less.

Good news is I've gained my weight back and the urologist says I don't need to come back and visit.

It has moved eastwardly. Our winds haven't been bad in Chattanooga area. The 'eye' if you can still call it that, it between Athens and Dahlonega.

Unless I get a text from work, we go in at 9:30. Most of our campus will be closed. Just hoping the power stay on. It really messes with out computers when we have storms like this. We have over 300 computers and servers that our staff of three support.

Hope everyone along the gulf made it ok.

It threaded the needle between Atl. & Clt. Will make that eastern big band over me soon. Lots of rain the past several days, it is noisy right now. As long as the system doesn't stall it'll be fine. If it is gusts in the 40s at the airport in town it might be + 10mph here from what I've observed the past year.

@billybob1 looks like your town got hit with some pretty bad surge. Saw a video of houses banging into each other.

Pray it wasn't in your neighborhood!
