Coupled with some of the best donuts in the area runnin 7-7PM. They made it in yesterday and are all over it. 3-45' trucks full of food along with every vehicle, that wasn't pulling a smoker, draggin a trailer. Always refreshing to see people stepping up in a time of need. It'll sort cause it ALWAYS does! Blessings to those involved. @billybob1 we already have sightings of gators in the Ohio river so you best be keepin ur d&7* snakes down there! I ain't askin for a friend either! Invidiosulus
I spent yesterday unloading 20’ and 14’ box trucks full of supplies at our church in Linville. Then loaded up the pilot chock full of supplies and headed back to Spruce Pine to distribute food and household items to the families in my neighborhood. My neighbors down the street have year-old twin boys and they were overjoyed when I told them I could get them the size diapers they needed. From there I stopped by to check on my old buddy Jeff and his wife and they had a crew out front repairing their service panel that was ripped off in the storm. In the meantime they have a generator that they were using for their fridge and their TV room. While I was there Jeff exclaimed “Life’s too short!” and insisted I grab an unopened bottle of bourbon off his workbench. Today was a bit more relaxed. Our water sort of came back on yesterday so I was able to get a couple of loads of laundry run before taking my oldest kiddo up to his friends house where they were going to help run the food truck that the friends mom runs that is currently providing meals for the linemen that Duke Energy has working up their way. On the way back to the house I stopped by the food pantry we run out of St Lucien’s and helped the gals there organize some boxes of supplies that had been dropped off and picked up some more batteries for the one family on my street that is still without power. Back at the house I cooked up some eggs and bacon from the cooler and then started a pot of chili for tonight. 2

Thank You West Virginia: Appalachian Liberty on X: "A group of coal miners from West Virginia have finished building a road from Big Chimney in under a week. A road that North Carolina Government Officials said would take several months to a year for them to do. #appalachianstrong https://t.co/Y5E9BWbcAM" / X

RickD Posted yesterday at 02:26 AM Share Posted yesterday at 02:26 AM Live up by Lake Lanier, north of Atlanta, we got lots of rain. I put a 5 gallon bucket outside before the heavy rain started and it was full the next day. My basement wall cracked and there was a big puddle of water on the floor. In the future I think we will see more of this. The price of gas is high!
