thebes Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 Mike Tyson versus some media influencer? This is boxing. Sounds more like professional wrestling to me. There was even a ***** slap at the weigh in. Long time ago I enjoyed both sports, granted, even as a kid I knew the wrestling matches were entertainment. Boxing was real though. Fond memory sitting in a movie theater with my Dad for the "Thriller in Maniler". Entire audience was male and the 1st time I'd ever seen beer served in a movie theater. I wonder what Howard Cosell would think of tonight. Would he approve or applaud since he was also a showman. Even at 58 Tyson taking on this punk is a foregone conclusion unless the fix is in and he has to stretch it out for a few rounds. The match is like me taking on Andre the Giant: 2 Quote

Schu Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 what a shyte show that was... Mike's punch count had to be less than 40 for the entire 8 rounds... 16 minutes Quote
billybob1 Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 Thriller was projected onto a side of Miami Beach hotel... Manila Quote
Imakeller Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 It was a snooze-fest money-grab. You gotta know when to say when, Iron Mike. The ladies fight before it was a good one though. Quote
thebes Posted November 16, 2024 Author Posted November 16, 2024 Nodded out before the actual match, but a draw? Sounds like a setup for a repeat match and more betting and more money. Yup, crooked. Boxing as pro wrestling. Quote
Invidiosulus Posted November 17, 2024 Posted November 17, 2024 Mike was out of gas before the end of the first round, his legs and cardio just weren’t there at all. you could tell a couple of his first punches genuinely surprised Jake Paul but after that he couldn’t get anything done. 1 Quote
