dr.hillbilly
My son owns a pair of klipschonrs which are just remarkable. I also own klipschorns, and over the last 20 years we have changed amps and homes and his horns always sound better than mine! I finally looked at his "AA" crossovers and realized that his have a stack of two paper-oil 10uf caps wired in parallel for the squaker rather than than the 15uf norm. They are square rather than racetrack in section. It seems unlikely that the horns would have been have been recaped during the period of oil-paper caps. Did Puul do this? JRH
It is very unlikely that Paul did this. DIY goes back to the beginning of audio. Two 10's is not too far from the original 15. The difference may be audible, but TBD whether it is "better".
JohnA
My Type AAs have a single, oval 13 uF squawker cap. I thought they all did. But I *have* seen some with 2 stacked caps of unknown value.
