JasinC19
Hi I need some serious advice about the 4.1's vs. Midiland's 8200 digital system. I've heard the 4.1's and they are outstanding. However, I watch a LOT of DVD's and I think I would really like to have digital sound. So if anyone has actually heard the Midiland system and the 4.1's can you give me some unbiased advice? Thanks a lot Jason
fawwaz
digital sound! No such thing! just a digital signal and it is used because it doesn't distort much! My advice would be with the 4.1 ,very nice indeed ,one con about them is the Crappy cheap wiress> Man I hate this when it happens! Anyway DVD's do sound great on the promedia's especially the bass when a plane or fast car is passing! Intense!!
Hipnotic_Tranz
The only big thing the Klipsch have going for them is the awsome bass; I will agree with you guys there but the Midiland system is damn nice. Specially if you can get a good deal on it like I have ($225 shipped). Keep an open mind. Both are great systems. It all boils down to what you do with your computer. If you watch DVD's of any sort, I would say go with the Midilands. 5.1 freakin' ROCKS. Hearing sh*t fade from left to right, back to front, front to back is just amazing. (speaker placement has a ton to do with this) They are both about the same price. If you can; buy whichever, test them out and if you don't like them-buy the other set. Check out my review over at PC Abusers. Here is a direct link: http://www.pcabusers.net/midiland8200/intro.html The last page at the bottom (also the first page, the last link called "comparison"), there is a link comparing the Midiland 8200s to the Klipsch 2.400 system. And yes, I have heard both systems. I have the Midilands, my friend has the Klipsch (keep in mind these are the "old" version). Hope this helps. Paragon
The Midi has the center.. the Pros have the sub. Forget about Digital part of it all.. a good soundcard will take care of that. I have not heard the Mids.. and have only watched a few DVDs on the Pros but the Pros are a nice set for the price - not like a great HTS setup but it kicks ] Remember that the center channel is used for the vocals of a movie.. something the fronts can duplicate well enough. Sounds like you need a nice HTS for you DVD enjoyment ~$0.
Hipnotic_Tranz
I believe the Midilands to be a nice, entry-level HTS... for anywhere from $225-300 a complete 5.1 system (no need for a reciever) it's nice.
