K-49-K and KD17

If you have no luck, you can get a recone kit from Simply Speakers for the KD 17.  I don't attempt a recone on a speaker with a voicecoil, but since the KD 17 is a passive radiator, it is fairly simple.  I have done a couple with good results.

There's no replacement driver that's anything like it. I have 2 KP-480s here which I am trying to figure out a suitable replacement driver for.

The KD-17 recone kit needs a 4.2 ounce weight glued onto it. Washers work well.

That's the way I did it.  Should have been able to use the weight from the old cone but there was none.  I still have not figured out where it could have possible gone. If the old cone fell apart (which was the case), the weight should have been rolling around in the cabinet or stuck to magnet of the 18" speaker. It was no where to be found.
