matthewbetcher Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Hi all... I've got an opportunity to purchase either at about the same price (the forte's being a little less) and wanted to know experience and thoughts between these two. I've seen a ton of talk around the Forte III and even favorable comparison though losing out to the Cornwall III. What I haven't heard is how the newer forte compares to an older Cornwall. The room is big enough for the Cornwalls, and I personally love the aesthetics of some Cornwall decorators (the ones available), but I also want to maximize the sound. The set up is either streaming through a vena quad play or vinyl on an LP12 run through a Conrad Johnson premiere 11a fitted with kt120 tubes. I have a long love affair with my KG4's, but as the gear has progressed I feel it's finally time to give them the speakers they deserve. thoughts? Quote
oldtimer Posted January 27 Posted January 27 forte will be better balanced than the Cornwall. Even forte IIs would be better. 1 Quote
gigantic Posted January 28 Posted January 28 Forte III all day. You can give them the Forte IV upgrade, too. 1 Quote
derrickdj1 Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Tough, tough choice. Only your ears can decide. The Cornwall's shine in a large room that allows good placement. The Forte is well balanced and also a great all-around speaker. I guess you can't go wrong with either. 1 Quote
Schu Posted January 29 Posted January 29 I think that both speakers are more similar than they are different... bigger room, cornwall smaller room, forte or cornwall 1 Quote
