swrobel Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Can someone help me make sense of the power switch on the back of my R-115SW? I haven't intentionally touched it in years, but it didn't seem to be coming back on out of standby on its own, so I was trying to make sure it was set to "Auto" but the switch itself seems to now be able to rotate so that it's not really clear which way is up (in some positions, it moves left-to-right 🤦🏼‍♂️). The manual isn't particularly helpful in this regard: Quote “POWER” AUTO/ON/OFF - When this switch is in the “ON/AUTO/STANDBY” position, the subwoofer will automatically turn “on” when it senses a signal. It will automatically go into “standby mode” after 15-20 minutes with no signal. When this switch is in the “OFF” position, the subwoofer will remain “off” until the switch is manually turned back to the “ON/AUTO/STANDBY” position. Anyway, is it a 3-position switch, where the middle position is "Auto"? Quote
derrickdj1 Posted January 27 Posted January 27 You may need to open up the sub to fix the switch. Quote
Klipsch Employees Trey Cannon Ex-employee Posted January 28 Klipsch Employees Posted January 28 ON/AUTO ON only disconnects the woofer from the amp. It does not turn off the amp. Set it to ON and keep on truckin.  Quote

Klipsch Employees Trey Cannon Ex-employee Posted February 9 Klipsch Employees Posted February 9 Its due to the in rush current and EPA.  In rush current is harder on electronics than the steady state of idle. In idle, they can only draw 1/4 Watt from the wall...like your phone charger. So leave them on and they will last longer.  1 Quote
