Loss of Volume - Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 THX Certified Computer Speaker System

Purchased a Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 THX Certified Computer Speaker System back mid-2023 or so.  Has performed well enough since.  Recently moved (again), reconnected everything, and at one point, this horrible, constant loud noise came out of speakers forcing me to unplug power.  Once powered back on, everything seemed fine until I went to turn up the volume and realized that past not even the (physical) halfway point, it just doesn't increase any further.  Sub works and its control does seem to work.  Fortunately, its current max volume is still usable, but I'm wondering if there is an easy fix.  I see a lot of reports of issues with control pods, with their replacement's success being mediocre at best.
