Be the first in the WORLD to own the newly designed La Scala® AL6 speakers

The Klipsch Museum of Audio History announces the La Scala AL6 Auction!

To Register and Bid CLICK HERE

Bidding begins today for a pair of final pre-production beta version La Scala AL6 speakers specially numbered, personally inspected and signed by Klipsch Group Inc. Senior Engineer Roy Delgado, Jr. He will supervise cabinet construction, personally select and match all drivers, and enter active crossover settings. The winning bidder will choose from black satin ash or walnut cabinets.

The auction ends at 6:30 p.m. CST (Hope Time) March 20, 2025 during a live stream Listening Lounge on the Museum's YouTube Channel and Facebook page where the winner will be announced.

Paul W. Klipsch designed the first La Scala in 1963 for Winthrop Rockefeller’s Arkansas gubernatorial campaign as a portable version of the Klipschorn. Sixty years later, Senior Engineer Roy Delgado Jr., designed the La Scala AL6 featuring an external active DSP crossover network to ensure the highest degree of accurate sound reproduction. The DSP network adjusts the phase and time delay of each acoustic component to eliminate acoustic phase cancellations and maximize output in the crossover region for truer-to-life sound. The DSP network also provides the necessary EQ and gain adjustment to blend the three acoustic components together seamlessly. Beautifully designed for shelf or rack mount applications, the La Scala AL6 active crossover also features adjustable trim levels to ensure the ultimate listening experience tailored to your room and personal taste.

Many thanks to Tommy Jacobs, President of Sales and Marketing for the Americas, Premium Audio Company LLC, for allowing the Klipsch Museum to use the pre-production beta La Scala AL6 speakers. Also, many thanks to Klipsch Museum member Bill Hendrix who won the speakers at the Spring Visitor Center Fundraiser drawing then generously donated the speakers back to the Museum for this auction.

All funds received directly benefit the Klipsch Museum of Audio History and our mission to foster interest in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics using Paul W. Klipsch’s science of sound; and to restore, preserve, maintain, and display Klipsch and Klipsch-related artifacts and archival materials for research and educational purposes.

It’s definitely going to raise some decent money for the museum, which is great.  Hats-off to Bill Hendrix for donating them back to the museum after winning the raffle.  I do hope they do raffles in the future though; maybe with some changes.  A raffle lets all the “little guys” like me feel like they could win.  I’m not confident I can win a check writing contest with an auction like this, but will still put in a bid.  Well, unless the current bid zooms past my number, which is entirely possible with how it’s going so far.

@mikebse2a3 Thanks for posting. the Listening Lounge Mike is a little mistaken, there was a reserve, but as @DeanG Crossovers said, it has been met, so it's off now. I think what he really meant to say is that it essentially had a "no minimum" because we started it at $100

The cut-off time will happen during the Listening Lounge, link below, (also on Museum Face Book page) .

North of $14k with 8 hours left, great news for the museum. Will a bidding war take place? Who will be the lucky winner? Only time will tell, stay tuned.

I just want to see these things finally roll off the production line.

I had all the plans to log in this afternoon and sniper this auction. However I looked in the chamber and there wasn't enough ammo

That was some spirited bidding!  A nice chunk of change for the museum.  Not sure if the winner (Mike M.) is on the forum or not, but if he is, I’d love to hear what he thinks of the AL6’s.

As Travis said, I'm the Mike M. who was the top bidder on the new La Scala auction.  It will be a little while before they get delivered to me.  They will be replacing the La Scala AL5 surrounds in my Jubilee/La Scala/Ki-102 multichannel/Atmos music (and movie) setup.  However, you can read my comments on the new La Scala and Klipschorn in these threads about the Chief Bonehead classes where I heard them.  Spoiler... they are amazing.  🙂
