Toxicant
My sister is looking for a pair of speakers, her ADS 910s have about had it. She loves the cornwalls but they are to big for her place, does anyone know how Vandersteen 2 would compare to a cornwall or chours, chorus II or whats the other one that replaced them? I gave her a Mac 1700 so thats the power source. By the way, are the ADS 910s worth anything? anyone know anything about them? Thanks! Audio Flynn
Totally different sound. She needs to audition to tell what she likes. Hereseys with a little sub would be nice. I know nothing about ADS.
justin_tx_16
My Range Rover had an A/D/S sound system in it that sounded just wonderful. Never heard their home audio though.

RobLikesTubes
I owned a pair of Vandersteen 2Ce-s. With really good solid state amps (100W +) and a tube pre-amp they sounded very good. Every other combo I used (lesser ss amps / ss pre-amps, etc) they were "OK". I found them to be very finicky placement-wise. You need a good 3 feet from the wall for decent bass response. The are very neutral, image pretty well, but nothing like the Cornwalls.
speed3
Vandersteens will sound completely different from a Cornwall. They are on very different spectrums of the speaker world. You could do the heresy thing, if you can find a decent set, but you could also look at some RF5's, etc. Their footpring is much smaller but they are taller. leok
I'm sure the Chorus-II would be great, if you can get a pair. I do recommend the RB-5, RF-5 or 7 if they can be placed in a corner. leok
