I've been thinking about my question and here's my guess. Its only a guess but it would make perfect since if - the Rf-5 is just an Rf-3 in real wood veneer, and the Rb-3 is a Rb-5 in a vinyl veneer. That would keep the 5 series as real wood and the 3 series as the same thing in vinyl. That would mean there should be a Rc-5 in wood also. Does that make since? Just a guess! George help me out here....

Jolly,

I think that you are right with that theory. It makes a lot of sense. The wood veneer would likely increase the price.

I think that RF-7's then would probably have 10" drivers and the centre and surrounds would have 8" drivers. (I think George said that already)

I really like the new finishes as well, I hope my wife will let me upgrade already smile.gif

let's see,... i could get the rf-7 for the fronts, move my current rf-3 to the rear next to the cornwalls & then use the cornwalls as just as "B" speakers for music, get the rs-7 as side surrounds, get the rc-7 & move the current rc-3 to the rear center, get the rsw-15 for a rear sub (or would it be all right as a main sub along w/ an hgs-15?). oh, then i'll need a new 7.1 receiver.

yea, that's the ticket...anybody run a loan co.? smile.gif

The size makes 'em look like they would be 5's. But they are only 2-way is looks like. What's up with that?

If not it is of no importance...just curiosity.

You beat me to the punch. I saw those cables and thought, hmmmm, what could those be. I know that everyone is wishy-washy about the whole cable thing but IMHO I think that they DO help. Thinking about going with XLO. But whatever they are using looks impressive.

Come on honey why can't I spend some more money?

wife-said-no, I remember reading a post, think it was in the website portion of the bulletin board, stating that the website was going to be updated soon. If I had to take a guess it will probaly have something to do with the new products. Definetly like your idea.

All monster stuff,interconnects and speaker.

The speaker wire was some big monster silve jacket, maybe bi-wire.I don't remember.I'll find out and get back Friday, same bat time, same bat channel.

Sorry I didn't pay that close attention,I use DH Labs and wasn't that interested, but it was big and fat.

You can just see it in one of my pictures

The reason I asked was cause I bought some IXOS 6006 Gamma Geometry 11awg speaker wire. I needed 25' runs and I figured the twisting would shield it best.

I figured that Klipsch would use what sounded the best, and they were definitely not what I got. Well anyway the IXOS cables are much better than what I had before.

Man o man...When things are already tough enough now I have to decide wether or not to wait for these new beauties....Guess I'll have to wait...I really wish someone could post some specs on those and some pics on the surrounds. I auditioned the RS-3's in my apt, though they were nice I wasn't really impressed but now i hear that these new surrounds will be carrying 2 eight inch cones! no doubt i will be impressed. If someone can get some more pics or some specs please post them.....Let me know that the wait is worth it!!!!!!!!

I see news travels fast around here...SteveP and GeorgeC, I'm glad you all made it home OK too..it was great to meet you 2...I don't know about you, but my ears are still ringing, not to mention the sore stomach muscles from their workout with those U571 demo's through the RSW-15..the concrete floor was vibrating...not to mention the beat of the legendary James Brown..we were gathering some serious crowds..anyway..I'm still jet-lagged, cross-eyed and I see I've just created the longest sentence of the day. Anyway, I'll go get some sleep and see you all Monday...

George C-all:

Thank you for your kind words.

Couple minor corrections to some of the above statements follow..

Amplifiers: The RSW 15 uses a 1,000 w continuous RMS amplifier. It's peak

capability is Considerably more than that. (Lets just say it's definitely

no less than the old LF-12 which didn't make it to market) Same for the

RSW-12.

Keep in mind these are larger enclosures than the old LF-line, and as most

of you know there is no replacement for displacement. Basically what I mean

is the same input power will yield more output.

If you want to make the comparison to the old smaller footprint LF's, these

subwoofers are more in keeping with the Klipsch Heritage. Larger enclosures

for increased system effeciency, and more output. AKA that Klipsch Slam..

RSW-15 output: The Prototypes are capable of up to 115dB 1 meter corner

loaded @20hz, and over 125dB over 25hz 1, meter corner loaded, without

regard to THD. Someone must have confused the two numbers. For those who

care, this is on the order of 29dB higher at 20hz, when measured at the same

2 meters, than what TN measured with the LF-10 for S&V.

Scaled to typical magazine 2 meter measurements, knock 6dB off those. You

could then compare their output relatively realistically to TN's

measurements at < 10%thd. Yes, you are right, the 15 is a Beast. Wimpy

competitors (even certain competators 18's) need be very very afraid.

The RF-7's do indeed play quite cleanly and without strain at VERY high

levels. They use extreme output 10" drivers which we modeled extensively

with FEA, and our unique tapered array crossover design which improves the

total in room power radiation, meaning better imaging and vocal

intelligibility. ( You should HEAR the Q Sound effects on some CDs through

these :-)

RS-7's use dual ports, dual 8" Tractrix horns, and a single high output 8"

unit. Yes, it goes louder and deeper than other Klipsch surrounds.

Considerably. They ROCK! ( Lets just say back to back an RB-5 wouldn't

embarrass them in extension or output.. )

RF-5's are not just wood RF-7's. They are honestly an improvement in

performance. They use much larger cabinets, low mass surrounds, feature

more port area for lower port distortion, stronger motors with longer

excursion, again for lower distortion, and Tapered Array networks which

improves the speakers total power response in room and improves their

imaging. They also have that gorgeous wood veneer.

RB-3's are not Vinyl RB-5's, they are a smaller, yet still very capable

version, with next size down woofers. Very cute. They mate VERY well to

the RSW-10.

The Klipsch Booth featured RF-7/RC-7/RS-7's and an RSW-15.

For people trying to look at that picture in the above post, the spaces create a problem for the auto hyperlink frabellizer.

You have to highlight the whole string from the http part through to the Small.jpg part, spaces includes, then cut and paste it into your location bar to get the (pretty cool) image of all the little subwoofers lined up together to display.
