Best Buy to carry Klipsch?

Recommended Posts

I heard this from some people and read the huge thread on it and I have to agree. This is the WORST idea that Klipsch has ever had.

Reputation and Quality is everything and when you move these speakers to BestBuy you will lose both.

Why?

Because even nice speakers dont run themeseleves, Now tell me this? How many receievers at Best Buy are worth a dime? How many of the actual Best Buy employees actually know their advanced home audio. Most places they dont have audio/video specialist they just pull a guy from the computer department to sell them. Here at our local Best Buy you can buy Bose speakers, JBLS and of course Best Buys Favorite KLH.

Ohh well there goes the great neighberhood.

Hey Foodshouldshutup,

Do you just not get the point?? Go away. If you are just going to be a pest and bash Klipsch no one will miss you. Just because you hopped in the marketing bandwagon and bought an inferior piece of garbage doesn't mean you have to sit here and bother us. I bought Klipsch. I'm happy with my Klipsch. So happy that I don't need to go other manufacture's forums to bash their products to try to make myself feel better about buying some garbage (because I didn't). Next time you deciede to invest in speakers, listen to your ears, not some marketing hype in stereofool.

Mrphats1999: In response to the BB question, it's been gone over for like a month and everything to say has been said, many times. Klipsch is already at BB and nothing will change that. The only thing to do is wait and see how it plays out.

I dunno.. there are both pro's and con's to Klipsch being sold at BB. It's certainly a great way to get more share of the marketplace and I might be inclined to pick up a couple of SF-2's there. But really I will probably just save up for some RF-5's.

I tend to agree. I'm no big fan of Best Buy, and their audio selection leaves alot to be desired. But if the Klipsch brand gets noticed by more consumers that would otherwise never know of these horn speakers, then so be it.

Gosh. This is old news...

I'd like to think my opinion has already been made known here.

Yeah, BB has amps that suit the Synergy series quite nicely - it's called Yamaha - and regardless of what has been said here about Yammy/Klipsch, my experience on the showroom floor with this combo (HTR-5250 can be found in every one of our displays) says SWEET!

And, as a BB employee and fellow audiohead, I can also say that if nothing else, Klipsch gives me one more thing I can steer people away from Bose with.

Guys we've been over this many many times. The only thing that sucks is that people shopping for synergy have to pay list now. Dealers will cut you a break to make a sale, but not BB. Unless it goes on sale you're paying list. Anyway, the new entry level reference models are right around the price range of the synergys at BB, so I don't see why anyone would buy from BB anyway. I'd rather have an RF25 than an SF2, and they basicly cost the same.

Companies must do what they must to increase their presence in the marketplace, I suppose. I don't quite understand the move though, since it isn't like Klipsch is a start-up company that isn't well known. After all, how many mass consumers have heard of sunfire, svs, krell, nad, tag mclauren, or velodyne? True, I don't like seeing our beloved Klipsch in worst...ahem....best buy, but atleast it's just the synergy series, which are not THAT great. I would die if the reference series found their way into that speaker showroom.

Yeah what's wrong with the sf-2 they kick serious *** actually i almost stepped up to the reference series towers but the bass response was better with the sf-2's and the size was better for my room bounderies witch you dont want to over power your room or under power it. It just worked out better for me to get them, and i may prefer the aluminum tweeter over titanium. but thats my opion every one is entitled to one. I would like to check out the more expensive ones in my room to see how they would sound defenitely love the look of the copper woofers, and the different wood veneers on the cabinets

there's no doubt in my mind that the reference series are better than the synergy line - i mean thats the luxury and the average line difference.

of course an rf-7, 5 or even 3 is going to sound better than an sf-2, but there are more civilized ways of saying that without provoking others like nicholtl did.

of course, its hard to know exactly what/how the other person meant what he said, since this is a discussion board and it's done through typed text. so for that, if your intentions werent as i described, i apologize ahead of time.

whats worse? Bestbuy carrying klipsch or audio king starting to carry cheaper products. Im not a bestbuy fan, but they are really stepping up and carrying better products these days

Totally agree with you. They carry all sorts of creap crap now. They have audiovox stuff. Nothing makes you happier than to know you can go to one store and buy a Krell amp, a sunfire sub, a klipsch RF7, and an audiovox dvd player.

I just wish they would demo them properly. And they really need to step it up in terms of other componants. They need to quit scrapping from the bottom of the barrel and get a few good midrange recievers and some decent dvd players.

While I concede that BB's dvd player selection leaves to be desired, I would submit that the Yamaha HTR-5590 is a more than adequate midrange receiver offering. Granted, it'd be nice (just like with the speakers) to have more than one, but BB wants to have a decent range of prices under $1000 from every company they sell for - and there really isn't any other company that offers more than one in that price range other than Onkyo and HK (which CC already carries)

You must realize that companies like Denon, Marantz, etc. won't allow a distro to only carry their low-end units. BB isn't going to get stuck with a ton of high-priced inventory that doesn't turn fast enough. That's why they dropped the JBL S312 from their lineup - $900 towers don't sell well in an electronics superstore - and $2000 receivers will fare no better.
