Schwarzenegger Wins

Malcolm,

"Ear, in Italy they actually elected a female porn star to their legislature, and IIRC for more than one term. Her name was Ciciolina."

I was waiting WHO would pull this from the history books, congrats. And YES you are very correct,Ciciolina was elected.

But in California Arnold Schwartz Und Egger vas electedt and von against a midget,a pOOrn star and a rich man in the wheel chair who happens to own a known skin mag.In other words all people who know americaln politics as well as IRAQ's information minister.

What is next? Silvester "Rocky" Stall Alone runns for president against Mickey Mouse and General Schwartz "Ubber" Kopf? All of a sudden a former inmate and six time, six time deathrow escapee Butcher"T Bone" Jones out of the blue take the lead and winns?!

To follow politics sometimes its to watch a great comedy.

Doug,

Sorry when a man who has to memorise over and over "I will be back" is elected I can do little else but poke the people who live a bit south of the great super power that is the empire of Quebec.

Just a couple of points...

Arnold was Mr. Universe. That is the best in the world at that particular thing. Do you have any idea how difficult it is to be the best in the world at something, whatever that something might be? Whether it's body building, pole vaulting, basketball, football, chess, racing, investment banking or whatever, to be *BETTER* than *EVERYONE* else you're competing against requires a level of determination, committment and ability that, well, only one person in 6 billion has.

Then, after he was Mr. Universe, he decided he wanted to be a movie star. Do you have any idea how many people want to be a movie star? How many make it? He set his course on accomplishing that, and *HE DID IT*. Whether you like any of his movies or not, or think he's a complete joke as an actor or think he's pretty good, the point is he set out to make his name in movies, and he did it. He's one of the top box office draws.

Sure, he has no political experience. But if he brings the same stubborn determination to no being anything less than the best to his governorship that he brought to other parts of his life (look who he married, for God's sake), he just might turn out to be a really good governor.

Okay, so I'm a fan. So shot me.

Fini - you may be more than just the only one here to have seen 'cannibal' - It could well be a distinction for miles around you. Based on the rating and synopsis - do you know anyone that has seen it twice?

As to bashing the 'Arnold' - regardless of what you think about his movies as a whole, they generally were better than those Reagan mega-boxoffice hits.

The lingering question - Rush and the cadre of 'Me Too's' on conservative media frequently lump actors and actresses into that 'those liberals' category (I find it amusing that there is a whole group of folks that get redfaced passionately angry when they say 'those liberals' and are seemingly unemotional when they say 'child pornographer'). Interesting - if the observation was as stereotypical as proclaimed, then why are the two most famous recent actor/politicians Republican?

To add fuel to the fire of hard to answer questions - Why are telepone companies excluded from the 'no call' restrictions?

Ray,

POW,here I shot you with a water gun.

Do you have any idea how hard it is to train each day, type multiple offensive posts each day to be the most hated Ear on the net? Do you have any idea?

NO

See I am the best pain in the buttox on the Klipsch board, attacking even good ole Schwartz Und Egger.

I see you are a fan of movies where speech is neglected and use of abusive firepower to overcome third world peeps and aliens is ate the forefront.

Nope, I'll admit to seeing Cannibal! The Musical. It was rather uneven but the scenes with the Nihongin tribe ("Nihongin" is Japanese for "Japanese) almost made me fall out of my chair laughing!

Does this refer to the company(s) from whom you are getting your phone service? If so, is it because they have a pre-existing relationship with you by default -- IOW, "if you can receive phone calls, you are my customer"

mOOn, I am from Sacramento. Lived in the Bay Area and Orange County for a while, too.

Ear, there were several veteran politicians familiar with all the issues on the ballot. And two were viable candidates right to the end: Bustamante (Democrat) and McClintock (Republican). And there was a long time wannabe Camejo (Green), also familiar with the issues. In the past, either Bustamante or McClintock would probably have won. But the people are just tired of politics as usual.

BTW this isn't the first election various folks without a chance in hell of winning have used for publicity. Anybody remember Pat Paulson, a comedian who used to run for office regularly?

What will determine how well Arnold is going to do is the group of folks he surrounds himself with and how well he can work with the Democrats. I have no doubt he will surround himself with the best and the brightest folks he can find. That leaves the Democrat controlled legislature. Boy are they p*ssed! But if they are smart, they will cooperate with Arnold, and share the credit for anything that gets fixed. Otherwise, they could be next!

hwatkins-

fini is not the only forum viewer of "Cannibal, The Musical" I am also a proud owner of this under-appreciated gem of modern cinematography. It's quite obvious that the deep and resounding message that this film projects is largely lost on the masses.

It's a happy-go-moinkaly lucky shpadoinklely...dayyyyyy

Clu,

Did you realize that a filmmaker, considered by many to be the most influential and important in the history of cinema, makes a cameo appearance in "Cannibal!"? Sadly, he recently passed away.

Actually, a lesser known thing about Arnold is that he does have some political experiance. I happened to be flipping through the channels and noticed him on CSPAN giving a speech to Congress lobbying for a law to be passed. And this wasn't his first edeavor either. Just some food for thought.
