rminten
I am wanting to setup a mixing system at my house and want to know what speakers I should buy that can take the punch I'll be giving them with mixing some club music. I was a DJ for 10 years and have been wanting to setup a home 'club' system for years, and finally am able to do it. I'm just starting this out, so any advice would be very welcome. Any advice on amps would be great too. I'll be mixing CD's and vinyl. I'm wanting alot of punch and power, and the ability to mix CD's\Vinyl and not have the speakers bottom out on me while mixing. Where do I start? Thanks! RM
WMcD
There is not much traffic on this forum and I see you didn't get any takers. The moderator is Dave Welsh. Try contacting him. You'll see his name at the opening of Pro Audio the forum. In the past I've seen that recording studios use good home speakers to simulate the home environment. On the other hand, you seem to want to simulate the club scene, which itself requires more power handling than the home lines. Frankly, this simulation may require a disco in your studio. Guest BillH
Are you looking for speakers that you will use outside the house for actual DJ' ing also? Do the looks of the speakers matter? Some home models are capable of very high SPL ( KLF 20, KLF 30 or RF 5 or RF 7)and have attractive cabinets. Otherwise you may want to consider the Pro Models KP 301, KP 302 or KP 250 if high SPL is what you need. These are also portable so you can DJ with them also.
