The Tax Cut

Recommended Posts

Don't forget, anyone that voted for Gore must return their refund check to D.C. Better yet send it to the state education department in New York. Maybe they can educate the locals on what a lying, stealing crook looks like.

PS ITS HILLARY!!!!!!!!!

I still can't believe they actually voted for this wacked out gypsy!

Proud Liberal here.

Talk about idiotic rantings from what reads like ditto heads. You guys blabber on ad nauseum about liberals and our supposed evil doings. Instead of spewing forth with the usual rhetoric, think then speak or in this case write. I read in this thread about the wealthy paying the most taxes and that was unfair. Try this simple bit of math. Say you have a group 10 people paying into a simple fair flat tax at a rate of 10%. Then say 9 of the 10 make $10 and thus pay $1 a peice in taxes. Lets make the wealthy one a $100 earner and thus pay $10 in taxes. Total tax revenue is $19. The wealthy one contributed about 52% of the tax revenues. As you can see, with a simple fair flat system a rich person pays more but no more than the less well off by a percentage of income. If rich republicans feel like they're abused in the system, swap places with the next homeless guy you meet on your way to church.

At least she was voted in. That's Democracy, not a coup d'tet.

What I can't believe is that 5 justices appointed a couple of multiple convicted DUI good ole boys to the White House.

As for mine and everyone elses tax cut, shrub has already stated we should use it to pay for energy bills. The unelected wants us to give the tax money to his family interests and major campaign contributors.

discorules.....Forget sending your refund check to the New York state education department. I think all you liberals should send your checks down south to Florida's education department. That way they could jump start a program in elementary school that teaches youngsters the proper way to read and complete a ballot effectively. Good ole boys huh? You really don't want to start comparing character here do you? Finally, Hillary getting elected really does sum it up. What a JOKE. Remember it takes a village to raise your kids these days..............

I hate it when someone refers to a mandate as a "contribution". Ever try not contributing to the IRS?

Yea! Like it's optional!

As far as the homeless goes. The overwhelming majority of them are that way by choice. Alcohol? Drugs? Insesive gambeling? I'd like to see just one homeless person that had a gun pointed at their head being forced to get into the position their in. Near my office there are quite a few "lifer" panhandlers. They'll give you the sad pleading voice try to get your money but when it comes to talking to other people (friends) a second later, the sad faces and any physical abnormalities are suddenly gone. Never gave to one, not going to. One actually went accross the street and got into his 2000 Buick and drove off.

Sorry to tblasing as his intial post was obviously more for reduced government spending. I guess we all want that as long as it doesn't take any $ directly out of our pockets. a complex problem indeed.

though i think any spending for education is an investment in the future of a country. as long as it's extended only to those who truely need it.

i don't agree wholely that spending a tax cut is what's best for this country. personal saving & investing is much more beneficial to all. capital formation creates more jobs & it does not spur inflation like direct spending does. better for the individual because the return is in actually $, not material gain (sorry klipsch).

as i touched on above, higher marginal tax rates discourages higher worker productivity & investment. quite contrary to an efficient market economy. a flat tax is the most fair for everyone. it's only unfair to

those continuously looking over the fence at their neighbor & what he has, while ignoring the fact that, in a capitalistic economy, they can make a difference for themselves. this mindset it that on which socialistic, facist, & communistic governments thrive.

in defense of the wealthy, & given the above on investment, who do you think is most likely to invest their tax refund rather than spend it? kind of obvious

that giving more $ back to the more productive workers is better for the economy isn't it? label it trickle down economics or whatever, but it makes a lot of economic sense.

but the dems will keep pounding in your head that the government will help you rather than you help yourself. they make you despise the wealthy so that they can raise taxes or not lower them as much. but where did all the money go for the tax increases of the early 90's? how much refund did anyone get back then. face it liberal democrats - you've been brainwashed by big brother!

that's just being a sore loser disko duck. the U.S. supreme court simply had to react to a left-wing FL Supreme (kangaroo) Court that was out of control, i.e.,

changing their own set orders in the middle of their own game.

& in case you haven't read the unofficial vote recounts, they all show that bush would have won FL even w/ the most liberal counting rules. even though the liberal tv networks released the results an hour before the polls closed in the FL panhandle. you have to ask how any organizations could be so ignorant. studies have shown that cost bush over 10,000 FL votes.

maybe the networks should be directly taken over by the gov, at least at election time. i'm sure that's something you could go for. Biggrin.gif

I won't run from character comparisons so if you've got something, come with it. Slamming conservatives is child's play.

As for Florida, Jeb and his cabal will be history shortly so his bro can't count on his help the next time he runs.

Also, what is wrong with "it takes a village"?

As usual, the point was missed with the tax analogy. Instead a non-sequetur Bush like response follows.

What studies have you read that said the overwhelming majority of homeless choose this? Why do I get the feeling that this is "half a brain tied behind my back" rhetoric.

Hello out there in the Hinterlands. The government helping you and you heklping yourself is not mutually exclusive. The "dems" just believe that the little guy ought to have some level of government help and access.

Do you really think ADM, Enron, Mobil, etc. give money to politicians because they like the Armani suits they wear. Whose the one that's brainwashed!

Some of that tax increase that help generate the projected surplus will used to give a range of tax payers some form of refund this year to help pay for that gas and electric bill.

Actually with the Senate going into Democratic party control, I'm quite happy geek.

As for the recounts, my sources do not show that Bush would have won all. It all depends on which paper you choose and what data you wish to put emphasis on.

What's interesting is that state's rights conservatives went to the Supreme Court on what are state issues, elections. Why were they so scared of counting the ballots, even the 67 counties attempted by the FL Supreme Court? If you don't know the outcome then why not let the count proceed and whoever wins wins. I guess even they (the shrub team) and the early projections knew the state went for Gore and therefore shrub fought to make sure this would not come to light.

Speaking of early projections, it's been going on for years and they had it right. I guess when there is a coup d'tet, projections become meaningless.

that has to be tongue-in-cheek. so the government takes more of our money then, gets a measly 4-5% return, then gives it back. i'm sure that's just what they had in mind. if that's not, in the words of steely dan, pretzel logic then I don't know what is.

though it was close, gore lost that election every which way. & he doesn't stand a chance of ever winning

after what he put this country through. dick nixon puts him to shame.

sorry you're getting money back to pay the high energy bills from the clinton admin. to you w/ love.

funny how bush has done so much more in a few months than willie did in his entire 8 yrs. time to move on & let the good times roll (despite the liberals). see ya suckers!

While avoiding getting into this mess overall, I will just say that I'm sending my refund check to the Democratic National Party, and sending a nice postcard to G-Dubyah thanking him for enabling me to make the contribution.

I don't need a government funded/slanted misinterpretation called a study to arrive at the correct conclusion. I see it with my own two eyes and well functioning brain.

Are you then saying that someone really did point a gun to their heads and force them to take illeagel drugs and massive amounts of alcohol? Get real.

Just read in the paper today. The earnings floor is $12,000/year.
